COLLECTOR’S GALLERIA: Time to start collecting special items: Antique pieces we don’t use and maybe have stored away in our homes: Lamps, mirrors, picture frames, china, crystal, jewelry, rosaries, statues, bibles, rare books, silverware, you name it, we want it. Scarves, pieces of crochet, afghan, needlepoint or embroidery these too are welcome! Bring all your donated articles to the rectory office marked “Collectors Galleria” Attention: Georgia De Jesus and Julianne Cruz. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!!

PARISH CENTER NEWS: St. Vincent De Paul Society distributes groceries three times a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 to 11:00 am. next to the front entrance of the Church.
We are having a small Rummage Sale every Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 PM to raise funds for the Social Services Center. We would like to ask for your support.

TEENS IN UNITY MINISTRY NEWS: Please help support our new Youth Ministry with their first Car Wash on Sunday, Aug. 8th, in our parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation!!!

NEW MASS SUMMER SCHEDULE: Due to the shortage of priests during this summer, beginning August 9th there will be NO 5:30PM MASS from Monday through Thursday. (There is a 5:30PM Mass daily at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church). We will continue to have the 7:30pm Spanish Mass on Fridays. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: Our monthly day of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament will be Friday, Aug. 6 from 8:30am until 9:30am ending with a general blessing.

PARISH HISTORY BOOK: Find out more about the history of Blessed Sacrament, and the role the Church has played in Hollywood over the past century. Copies of our parish history are only $10 and are on sale after all Masses.

RESTORATION OF THE CHURCH: There are many ways for you to participate in the centennial celebration. One opportunity is to assist us with the restoration of our beautiful church. Here are some specific needs.

Maintaining the Church Organ: $15,000

CARNIVAL NEWS: We need you help to make the 2004 Blessed Sacrament a success! The Carnival will be held October 22, 23, 24th.
Volunteer your time: We can use your help soliciting donations, planning and installing decorations, setting up before the weekend event, preparing food, running the game & raffle booths etc. Whether you can spare the time to ask for donations now or you can help us for a few hours during the weekend itself we would be grateful for any time you can give.
Contribute items: We encourage you to request donations from local businesses that you frequent, and to ask your friends and families if they can help us. You can get letters to use when soliciting donations form the rectory office.
Come to the party and enjoy! We will send you more information thru the bulletin as the weekend draws closer but do not forget that your raffle ticket purchase is one very important way that you can help defray the costs of planning the carnival and make sure that as much money as possible goes directly to help the school and parish. We encourage you to invite your colleagues, friends, and families to join us for the weekend. Its fun when you bring a crowd and it is a greater way for prospective families to learn about the school and parish. We will be offering a limited number of discounted ride tickets when the weekend draws nearer. So be on the look out.
We are excited about the chance to top our fundraising records from previous years and we are looking forward to a terrific weekend with food, games, entertainment and friends. We would be thrilled for you to help us make the 2004 Carnival, Concert & International Cuisine our best yet. ADORACION AL SANTISIMO SACRAMENTO: El Viernes 6 de Agosto tendremos nuestra Adoracion mensual desde las 8:30am hasta las 9:30am terminando con una bendicion general.

JOVENES UNIDOS: El nuevo Ministerio de Jovenes Unidos tendra su Primer Lavado de Carros (Car Wash) el Domingo 8, en el estacionamiento de la iglesia cerca de la Oficina de Servicios Sociales. Aprovechen esta oportunidad, traigan sus carros para lavar y al mismo tiempo ayuden a estos jovenes!!!

GALERIA DE COLECCIONADORES: Ya es tiempo que comiencen a coleccionar antiguedades, tales como: lamparas, espejos, porta-retratos, loza, cristaleria, joyas, rosarios, biblias, libros antiguos, en fin cualquier pieza que Uds. piensen se pueda usar. Tambien aceptamos cosas hechas a crochet, tejidos, bordados, etc.!!! Puede traer sus donaciones a la oficina de la rectoria a la atencion de Georgia de Jesus y Julianne Cruz. NOTICIAS DEL CENTRO PASTORAL: La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul distribuye alimentos tres veces a la semana: Martes y Jueves de 4:00 a 6:00 pm y los Sabados de 9:00 a las 11:00am contiguo a la entrada principal de la Iglesia. Llamenos para mas informacion.
Todos los Sabados de 10:00 am a 3:00pm tenemos una pequena venta, de Segunda para recaudar fondos para el Centro de Servicios Sociales, esperamos que nos de su apoyo.

NUEVO HORARIO DE MISAS DURANTE EL VERANO: Debido a la escasez de sacerdotes este verano, a partir del 9 de Agosto NO TENDREMOS LAS MISAS DE 5:30PM de Lunes a Jueves. (Hay Misa diaria a las 5:30pm en la Iglesia del Immaculado Corazon de Maria). Continuaremos teniendo la Misa en Espanol los Viernes a las 7:30pm. Disculpen cualquier inconveniente que esto les pueda causar.

UNA CARINOSA DESPEDIDA: Este fin de semana el Padre Tom McCormick esta dejando nuestra parroquia para continuar con su servicio en Santa Barbara.

LIBRO COMMEMORATIVO DEL CENTENARIO: Informese sobre la historia de nuestra parroquia y del papel tan importante que ha desarrollado en Hollywood durante este centenario. Los libros estan a la venta despues de las Misas y en la oficina de la rectoria al precio de $10.00

RESTAURACION DE LA IGLESIA: Hay muchas maneras en las cuales Ud Puede participar en la celebracion del Centenario. Una oportunidad seria que nos ayude con la restauracion de nuestra bella Iglesia. Detalles especificos:
Iluminacion de toda la fachada principal de la Iglesia: $35,000
Mantenimiento del Organo: $15,000
Si esta Ud interesado y/o sabe de alguna otra persona o negocio que puedan estar interesados en colaborar con estos proyectos, por favor sirvase contactar al Padre Mike directamente.

CAMISETAS DEL CENTENARIO A LA VENTA: Demuestre lo orgulloso(a) que se siente por pertenecer a la Parroquia del Santisimo Sacramento adquiriendo una de las camisetas de nuestro centenario.

NOTICIAS DEL CARNAVAL: Necesitamos de su ayuda para hacer del Carnaval del 2004 todo un completo suceso. El Carnaval se realizara el 22, 23 & 24 de Octubre.
Hagase voluntario: Puede ayudarnos solicitando donaciones, en la planificacion del evento y/o colocando decoraciones, arreglando los kioskos antes del evento, preparando comida, trabajando en las tombolas, etc. Ya sea que Ud pueda ayudar solicitando donaciones ahora, o por algunas horas durante el fin de semana del Carnaval, le agradeceremos sumamente su ayuda.
Donaciones: Les sugerimos pedir donaciones de los establecimientos comerciales que frequenta, y solicitar ayuda de sus familiares y amigos. Tenemos cartas que son usadas especificamente para este tipo de solicitaciones y las pueden obtener en la oficina de la rectoria de la parroquia.
