CARNIVAL NEWS: A very important Carnival meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 24 in the Parish Center at 7:30pm. Publicity, Solicitations, Food, Raffle, Art committees will meet to discuss important issues. Please come and participate with your fellow committee members. We need volunteers to help us sell Carnival tickets on Sundays after all the Masses. Please talk to Lauro Literte.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION DEP’T. NEWS: The CCD office is accepting registrations for Catechism, Confirmation, RCIA, and Altar Servers programs for the 2004-2005 school year. Please come to the Religious Education Office or call them at (323) 463-9820 for more information.

SECOND COLLECTION - MISSION SUNDAY. Today we have a Second Collection on behalf of the Mission Sunday. Fr. Fred Green, a Jesuit Priest residing in Tacna, Peru will be preaching at all the Masses informing us about his Mission in southern Peru. Corresponding envelopes are found behind the pews. Please be generous!

PARISH CENTER NEWS: The office of Social Service receives major support from Blessed Sacrament Parish, but in order to meet our budget we have to raise funds constantly - by in-house fundraiser activities, soliciting individual donations or Corporate benefactors like the grant we just received by Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation. Even when we try to keep expenses to a minimum by soliciting donations, we also depend on the support you might be able to give us through your donations in the poor boxes and the goods you bring to the Center. Right now we are in need of: Clothing for men and women including underwear, socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes and mouthwash; paper plates; trash bags; cleaning supplies; shaving cream and razors; soap; shampoo; conditioner; body lotion. And God Bless you for all your generosity!

CARNIVAL NEWS: We need you help to make the 2004 Blessed Sacrament a success! The Carnival will be held October 22, 23, 24th.

Raffle tickets: have been mailed already! Please turn in your ticket stubs and money as soon as possible.
Volunteer your time: We can use your help soliciting donations, planning and installing decorations, setting up before the weekend event, preparing food, running the game & raffle booths etc. Whether you can spare the time to ask for donations now or you can help us for a few hours during the weekend itself we would be grateful for any time you can give.
Contribute items: We encourage you to request donations from local businesses that you frequent, and to ask your friends and families if they can help us. You can get letters to use when soliciting donations form the rectory office.
Come to the party and enjoy! We will send you more information thru the bulletin as the weekend draws closer but do not forget that your raffle ticket purchase is one very important way that you can help defray the costs of planning the carnival and make sure that as much money as possible goes directly to help the school and parish. We encourage you to invite your colleagues, friends, and families to join us for the weekend. Its fun when you bring a crowd and it is a greater way for prospective families to learn about the school and parish. We will be offering a limited number of discounted ride tickets when the weekend draws nearer. So be on the look out.
We are excited about the chance to top our fundraising records from previous years and we are looking forward to a terrific weekend with food, games, entertainment and friends. We would be thrilled for you to help us make the 2004 Carnival, Concert & International Cuisine our best yet. NOTICIAS DEL CARNAVAL: Tendremos una reunion muy importante el Martes 24 de Agosto en el Centro Pastoral a las 7:30pm. Los comites de Publicidad, Solicitaciones, Comida, Rifas y Arte. Por favor vengan y participen de esta importante reunion. Necesitamos de voluntarios para vender los boletos de las rifas del Carnaval los Domingos despues de todas las Misas. SEGUND COLECTA - PARA LAS MISIONES: Hoy tenemos una Segunda Colecta destinada para las Misiones extranjeras. El Padre Jesuita Fred Green, quien tiene una Mision hace muchos anos en Tacna, al sur del Peru estara predicando en todas las Misas este fin de semana e informandonos sobre su Mision. Los sobres correspondientes para esta donacion se encuentran detras de las bancas. Gracias por su generosidad!

GALERIA DE COLECCIONADORES: Ya es tiempo que comiencen a coleccionar antiguedades, tales como: lamparas, espejos, porta-retratos, loza, cristaleria, joyas, rosarios, biblias, libros antiguos, en fin cualquier pieza que Uds. piensen se pueda usar. Tambien aceptamos cosas hechas a crochet, tejidos, bordados, etc.!!! Puede traer sus donaciones a la oficina de la rectoría a la atencion de Georgia de Jesus y Julianne Cruz. Gracias por anticipado por su gran cooperacion.

 

CENTRO PASTORAL: La Oficina de Servicios Sociales recibe mucha ayuda de la Parroqia de Blessed Sacrament, pero para poder cubrir nuestro presupuesto nosotros tenemos constantemente que recolectar fondos por medio de actividades internas: solicitando donaciones personales o de companias benefactoras como la donacion que nos hizo La Camara de Comercio en su Fundacion Comunitaria, y aunque tratamos de mantener nuestros gastos al minimo tambien dependemos del apoyo que Ud. pueda darnos atraves de las donaciones que deposita en las alcancias para los pobres y los articulos que trae al Centro. En este momento necesitamos: Ropa para hombre o mujer incluyendo ropa interior; Calcetines; Pasta y cepillos de dientes asi como Astringente; platos desechables (no de papel); Bolsas para basura; Articulos de Limpieza; Crema y maquinas para razurarse Jabon, Shampoo, acondicionador y crema para el cuerpo;
Y que Dios le bendiga por la ayuda que Ud. pueda darnos.

NOTICIAS DEL CARNAVAL: Necesitamos de su ayuda para hacer del Carnaval del 2004 todo un completo suceso. El Carnaval se realizara el 22, 23 & 24 de Octubre.
Talonarios de Rifas: Ya han sido enviados por correo!!! Por favor devuelvan sus contrasenas y dinero lo mas pronto posible.
Hagase voluntario: Puede ayudarnos solicitando donaciones, en la planificacion del evento y/o colocando decoraciones, arreglando los kioskos antes del evento, preparando comida, trabajando en las tombolas, etc. Ya sea que Ud pueda ayudar solicitando donaciones ahora, o por algunas horas durante el fin de semana del Carnaval, le agradeceremos sumamente su ayuda.
Donaciones: Les sugerimos pedir donaciones de los establecimientos comerciales que frequenta, y solicitar ayuda de sus familiares y amigos. Tenemos cartas que son usadas especificamente para este tipo de solicitaciones y las pueden obtener en la oficina de la rectoria de la parroquia.
Vengan a la fiesta y diviertanse: Conforme el tiempo avanza y va llegando la fecha les daremos mas informaciom a traves del boletin, pero no se olviden de lo importante que es vender y/o comprar de los boletos de las rifas. Este dinero ayuda a bajar el costo de la planificacion del Carnaval y de esta manera entra mas dinero para la escuela y la parroquia. Inviten a sus amigos, familiares, colegas de trabajo para pasar un fin de semana super divertido. Estaremos ofreciendo boletos con descuento para los juegos mecanicos semanas antes del Carnaval. Deseamos superar la ganancia del ano pasado y esperamos hacer de este Carnaval, Concierto y Festival de Cocina Internacional del 2004 uno de los mejores en los ultimos tiempos.
