PARISH CENTER NEWS:
– Blessed Sacrament Social Services wishes to thank the friends and family of Leo O’Connor who graciously made donations to us in his memory. We deeply appreciate this beautiful way to honor a loved one by helping the poorest of our community.
– We will be serving a Thanksgiving meal for our clients on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd, at noon. If you want to participate please call our office.
– We are taking names for the Christmas Toys and grocery program, if you wish to help or enroll your kids in this event call us no later than November 18th.

THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION: This year again, we are having the Food Drive for the needy families in our parish as well as the Gift Tree name drawing for the children of our parish, as part of our Thanksgiving celebration. On Thanksgiving Day at the 10:00am Bilingual Service parishioners are requested to bring canned food, cereals, juices, etc. so that volunteers can prepare “Christmas baskets” for our needy families.

The average expenses for the parish, including payment of the debt, are $10,300.00 weekly. Thank you for your continued support.

HEALTH CABINET NEWS: Winter season is coming - let’s get prepared. The shots will be offered on Sunday, November 21 from 8am - 2 m (or until supply lasts-first come-first served) in the school auditorium. The amount is limited due to the national shortage of vaccine. It will be only offered to persons 65 years or older; persons with chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure or asthma; pregnant women and/or babies 6-23 months, and health care workers. No exemptions! There will be a cost of $10.00 (cash only).

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: will take place Saturday, November 20th at 8:45am in the Parish Center. All ministries/groups representatives are invited to participate.

SCHOOL THANKSGIVING MASS: All parishioners and friends of Blessed Sacrament School are cordially invited to attend the School Thanksgiving Mass on Monday, November 22 at 12:05.

CARNIVAL NEWS:
Hundreds of people came together to make our Centennial Year Carnival 2004 a wonderful success. We want to thank each and everyone who participated in this spectacular experience of community and fund raising for the School and the Parish.
We fully expect that the Captains of each of the game and food booths will thank our own volunteers in your own way. We in turn want to thank the Captains for the extra work that you do to make the Carnival fun and financially rewarding.

MINISTERIO DE LA SALUD: El invierno se esta aproximando y hay que prepararnos. Las vacunas estaran disponibles el Domingo 21 de Noviembre de 8 am - 2 pm (o hasta que se terminen-a los primeros que vengan se les atendera primero) en el auditorio de la escuela. La cantidad es limitada debido a la escasez nacional de vacunas. Solamente se ofreceran vacunas a personas de 65 anos o mas de edad; personas con enfermedades cronicas como diabetes, alta presion o asma; mujeres embarazadas; bebes de 6 a 23 meses y personas que trabajen cuidando enfermos. No habra excepciones!!! El costo es de $10.00 (efectivo solamente).

NOTICIAS DE VECINOS UNIDOS (HOLLYWOOD INTERFAITH SPONSORING COMMITTEE): El Jueves, 18 de Noviembre a las 7pm en el auditorio de la escuela, se llevara a cabo una reunion, sobre el tema del desalojo ilegal de las personas de sus viviendas, la descriminacion al momento de alquilar un departamento, asi como tambien la oportunidad de inscribir a ninos menores de 18 anos en programas de salud, sin costo alguno o a bajo costo. LIBRO DE MEMORIAS DE LAS ALMAS: Si desean que sus difuntos sean recordados en la intenciones diarias de las Misas del medio día durante el mes de Noviembre, anoten los nombres en el libro.

FR. JAMES GALLAS: Sentimos comunicarles que la mama del Padre Gallas fallecio el 30 de Octubre pasado. Los servicios funerarios fueron realizados en privado. Por favor recordarla a ella, al Padre Gallas y toda su familia en sus oraciones. Que en la paz de Dios descanse!

NOTICIAS DEL CENTRO PASTORAL:
– La Oficina de Servicios Sociales desea agradecer a los amigos y familiares del Sr. Leo O’Connor que generosamente nos han enviado donaciones en su memoria. Agradecemos profundamente ese bonito detalle de honrar la memoria de un ser querido mediante la ayuda a los mas pobres de nuestra comunidad.
– Estaremos ofreciendo un almuerzo para celebrar el Dia de Accion de Gracias el dia Martes 23 de Noviembre a las 12 del medio dia. Si desea participar puede comunicarse al telf: (323) 871-8042.

CELEBRACION DEL DIA DE ACCION DE GRACIAS: este ano nuevamente tendremos la “Campana para recolectar alimentos” en favor de las familias necesitadas de nuestra parroquia y el “Arbolito de Regalos” para los ninos necesitados de la parroquia. El Dia de Accion de Gracias durante nuestro servicio bilingue de las 10:00am se pide a los feligreses traer comida enlatada, en cajas, jugos, etc. para que voluntarios preparen “Canastas Navidenas” para las familias de pocos recursos economicos y al mismo tiempo escogeran el nombre de un nino/a para donar regalitos en Navidad.

CARNIVAL:
Cientos de personas trabajaron unidas para hacer de este Carnaval en el Ano de nuestro Centenario un tremendo suceso. Deseamos agradecer a todos y cada uno de Uds quienes participaron en esta espectacular experiencia de comunidad y de recaudacion de fondos para la Escuela y la Parroquia.
Esperamos que los Capitanes de cada tombola y/o puestos de comida agradezcan a sus propios voluntarios de alguna manera. Nosotros por nuestra parte agradeceremos a los Capitanes por el arduo trabajo que tuvieron que hacer para que este Carnaval sea todo un acontecimiento feliz y exitoso financieramente.
Los invitamos a que nos hagan llegar por escrito sus sugestiones/comentarios para el proximo Carnaval en el ano 2005, pueden dejar sus notas en la rectoria.

CONFERENCIA SOBRE ESPIRITUALIDAD: Hoy se llevara a cabo una conferencia sobre Espiritualidad en el auditorio de la escuela de 10am hasta las 6pm. El Padre Tacho Rivera del Instituto de Espiritualidad Loyola estara dando la conferencia. Todos estan invitados a asistir y participar!
