CARDINAL MAHONY URGES PRAYERS, DONATIONS TO HELP WITH DISASTER RELIEF IN TSUNAMI RAVAGED AREAS
Cardinal Roger Mahony is urging Catholics and others to offer prayers and donations for victims of the earthquake-generated tsunami waves that struck coastal areas of Southeast Asia this week.
A “Southeast Asia Disaster Relief Fund” has been established by the Archdiocese, with all of the proceeds going directly to Catholic Relief Services, an international relief agency that is providing emergency assistance in each of the countries affected by the disaster.
Checks should be made payable to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Please designate somewhere on the check, “Southeast Asia Disaster Relief Fund.”

We have received many phone calls asking for applications for the low income apartments located at the corner of Sunset and Western. We have not received the applications yet. When we do, we will advertise it in the bulletin.

HISC: Keep your children healthy! It’s easy! Sign up for free or low-cost health insurance on Sunday, January 9, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Room. If you live in LA County and have a child 18 or younger without health insurance, you can get free or low-cost health insurance regardless of your immigration status or income level. Because of recent changes in LA County, ALL children are now eligible for some form of insurance.
Health insurance is the best way to keep your children healthy. It’s safe and inexpensive. Your records will be kept confidential and will not affect your immigration status. Just bring your pay stubs for one month or 1040 tax form to verify income, and bring proof that you live in LA County (a piece of mail with your name and address on it).
