HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The Jesuit Community of Blessed Sacrament and the office staff wish you and your family a very “HAPPY NEW YEAR.”

RECTORY OFFICE HOURS FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE: The reception desk at the Parish Office will be open on New Year’s Eve, December 31 from 9 am to 1 pm. The Parish Office will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 1. We will reopen on Sunday, Jan. 2 as usual.

JESUITS: Will be away on Monday, December 27. There will be no Mass celebrations at 12:05 pm. Instead we will have Communion Service led by Eucharistic Ministers.

MISSALS ON SALE: English missals for the year 2005 are on sale at the rectory office at the price of $4.00 per missal.

HEALTH CABINET: The nurse will be on vacation on December 28. She will be back in the office on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 as regular.

PARISH CENTER NEWS:
Last Saturday, December 18 we had the Toy distribution program. The children had the opportunity to visit with Santa, receive a toy, and enjoy a Candy and a Mc Donald’s treat. Blessed Sacrament and St Brendan’s volunteers worked very hard to make this occasion enjoyable and a big success. Around 1100 children showed up for this event. Thanks to every one that in one way or another contributed to make this possible.
The office of Social Service will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Dec 24/25), and on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (Dec. 31/Jan 1st. 2005).

HISC: Keep your children healthy! It’s easy! Sign up for free or low-cost health insurance on Sunday, January 9, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Room. If you live in LA County and have a child 18 or younger without health insurance, you can get free or low-cost health insurance regardless of your immigration status or income level. Because of recent changes in LA County, ALL children are now eligible for some form of insurance.
Health insurance is the best way to keep your children healthy. It’s safe and inexpensive. Your records will be kept confidential and will not affect your immigration status. Just bring your pay stubs for one month or 1040 tax form to verify income, and bring proof that you live in LA County (a piece of mail with your name and address on it). COORDINADORES DE LA VENTA DEL PROXIMO DOMINGO: Encuentro Matrimonial (coffee & donuts)

JESUITAS: Los sacerdotes tomaran un dia de descanso despues de la Navidad manana Lunes 27 de Diciembre. Ese dia no tendremos Misa de las 12:05, solo se realizara un Servicio de Comunion a cargo de un Ministro de la Eucaristia.

HISC: Mantenga a sus ninos sanos! Es facil! Unicamente tiene que apuntarse para obtener Seguro Medico gratis o a bajo costo el Domingo 9 de Enero, 2005 de 10:00 a.m. a 1 p.m. en el Salon de San Ignacio. Si usted vive en el Condado de Los Angeles y tiene ninos menores de 18 anos sin seguro de salud, puede obtener gratis o a bajo costo el Seguro de Salud, sin que afecte su estatus migratorio o su nivel de ingresos. En recientes cambios hechos en el Condado de Los Angeles, TODOS los ninos son elegibles para obtener Seguro Medico.
El Seguro Medico es la mejor manera de mantener a sus hijos sanos. Es seguro y economico. Sus archivos se mantendran confidenciales y esto no afectara su estatus migratorio. Solo tiene que traer sus talones de cheques de un mes o la forma de impuestos 1040 para verificar sus ingresos, y prueba que vive en el Condado de Los Angeles (Un sobre con su nombre y direccion o un recibo). NOTICIAS DEL CENTRO PASTORAL: El Sabado pasado 18 de Diciembretuvimos el programa de distribucion de juguetes, Los ninos tuvieron la oportunidad de disfrutar de la compania de San Nicolas, recibir juguetes, dulces y refrescos, y hamburgesas de MacDonald’s. Los voluntarios de la parroquia del Santisimo Sacramento y de St. Brendan’s trabajaron arduamente para hacer the este evento una ocasion Feliz para todos esos ninos. Aproximadamente unos 1100 ninos asistieron al evento. Gracias a todas las personas que de una manera u otra hicieron este evento possible.
La Oficina de Servicios Sociales estara cerrada el 24, 25 y 30 de Diciembre, asi como tambien el 1o. de Enero de el 2005.
