TOGETHER IN MISSION - COMMITMENT SUNDAY: Cardinal Mahony sent a letter, last week, to most past contributors to the Together in Mission campaign. Today, at all Masses, we request that you prayerfully reflect on the amount of the pledge to be made to help those needy parishes and schools in our different areas. Our Presider will walk you through the steps to fill out the envelopes located behind the pews. Thank you for your generous donation!

CARNIVAL NEWS: will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 1st. @ 7:30pm in the Parish Center. We will be forming all committees, please attend!!!

HEALTH CABINET NEWS: A CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) class for adults is scheduled to take place in the Parish Center next Sunday, Feb. 6 from 8:00am until 2:00pm. Please call the rectory to register, this is a small class, maximum nine people and the cost is $10.00 for certificate.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: This week Jan 31/Feb 4, we celebrate “Catholic Schools Week”. We welcome our definitely young students - the lay ministers of tomorrow. Our Parish School provides a privileged education for the children of our community. We salute our Principal, Mrs. Ava Haylock, and all who assist her in guiding these students in the paths of learning and of the Christian life.
During this week, please keep the school, its faculty and student body, in your prayers. We cordially invite all parents and parishioners to our “OPEN HOUSE” on Wednesday, Feb. 2 - (9:00 to 11:30am), parents are invited to visit classrooms and join your childrens for lunch today. Please check with the school office for more activities during “CATHOLIC SCHOOL WEEK” EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRMENT: Our monthly day of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament will be Friday, Feb. 4th from 8:30am until 9:30am ending with a general blessing.

PARISH CENTER NEWS: Every Saturday we will be offering counseling on how to apply for the County programs of Welfare and General Relief. If you do not know if you qualify for these programs, call the Social Services office for more information or to make an appointment with the counselor.
– Gwendoline Yeo is a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament and a volunteer at the Social Services office. This Sunday, Jan. 30th at 9:00pm she will be appearing in a CBS movie call: “The Magic of Ordinary Days.” It is a love story from World War II. We would like to invite you to watch the movie.
– We will be taking appointments for the Winter Energy Assistance Program starting the second week in February. This program assists low income families with their gas and Edison Electric company bills up to $100.00. Water and Power bills are NOT covered.

LOS ANGELES RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CONGRESS 2005: The annual Religious Education Congress at Anaheim is ready to enrich and revitalize us once more. SEMANA DE LOS COLEGIOS CATOLICOS: Esta semana empieza la celebracion de la “Semana de los Colegios Catolicos” del 31 de Enero al 4 de Febrero. Damos una calurosa bienvenida y saludo a todos nuestros estudiantes - los ministros laicos del futuro.
