MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. HOLIDAY-RECTORY OFFICE CLOSED: The rectory office will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 17 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday as usual.

TOGETHER IN MISSION 2005: Most past contributors to Together in Mission will receive a mailing this week from Cardinal Mahony. At all Masses next weekend, we will provide significant additional information about this campaign that provides funds to needy parishes and schools that would find it difficult, if not impossible, to operate without them. Please pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as you consider your pledge according to what God has given you.

HISC (Hollywood Interfaith Sponsoring Committee): will meet on Thursday, January 20th in the school auditorium at 6:30pm. All are invited to participate!

HEALTH CABINET MINISTRY: The Health Cabinet Ministry and QueensCare are sponsoring a Pap Smear Test for Sunday, January 23rd from 8:00am to 2:30pm in the Parish Center. You need to make an appointment, please call Lynn or Magali at (323) 644-6180.

PARISH CENTER NEWS: Blessed Sacrament Social Services Office will be offering a Legal Clinic on Immigration issues on the 22nd of January. Call us to make an appointment, lawyers will be at the Center to assist you from 10am to 2.30pm.
– It is time for the Winter Assistance Program! This program helps low-income families with the Gas and Edison Electric bills, we will be taking appointments the second week of February. Please call to make an appointment.

LOS ANGELES RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CONGRESS: The annual Religious Education Congress at Anaheim is ready to enrich and revitalize us once more. CARDINAL MAHONY URGES PRAYERS, DONATIONS TO HELP WITH DISASTER RELIEF IN TSUNAMI RAVAGED AREAS: Cardinal Roger Mahony is urging Catholics and others to offer prayers and donations for victims of the earthquake-generated tsunami waves that struck coastal areas of Southeast Asia this week.
A “Southeast Asia Disaster Relief Fund” has been established by the Archdiocese, with all of the proceeds going directly to Catholic Relief Services, an international relief agency that is providing emergency assistance in each of the countries affected by the disaster.
Checks should be made payable to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Please designate somewhere on the check, “Southeast Asia Disaster Relief Fund.”

UNIDOS EN MISION 2005: El Cardinal Mahony esta enviando una carta esta semana a la mayoria de las personas que contribuyeron con la Campana de Unidos en Mision el ano pasado. La proxima semana durante todas las Misas daremos informacion adicional acerca de esta campana, la cual destina fondos para parroquias y escuelas muy necesitadas, a las cuales sin este tipo de ayuda les seria muy dificil, o tal vez no podrian subsistir. Oremos para que el Espiritu Santo nos guie al considerar nuestra donacion de acuerdo a nuestras posibilidades la semana entrante.
