PRESIDENT’S DAY HOLIDAY: The rectory office will be closed tomorrow in observance of the President’s Day Holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday as usual.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS:
– Monday evenings at 7:00pm: 2/21, 2/28, and 3/21.
– Monday evenings at 6:30pm: 3/7 and 3/14.
– Each Friday at 11:30am in the Church.
– Fridays at 7:00pm in Spanish in the Church.

LENTEN RECONCILIATION SERVICE:
Our Lenten Reconciliation Service will be Monday, February 28, at 7:30pm. Our communal celebration will be multi-lingual. Confessions will be heard in English and Spanish.

FAST AND ABSTINENCE: All Fridays of Lent and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat. Fasting days are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
– Important announcement: During Lent we try to maintain a very simple church environment, please do not bring flowers. Thank you!

TSUNAMI RELIEF FUND: The recipient of our Tsunami collection is Pondicherry Institute of Medical Science through Dr. T.V. Mathew, who is a medical doctor, former Jesuit, and a friend of Fr. Sebastian. We collected $5,175.00 and these funds will be used in the area of Disaster Management counseling. Below is a message received from Dr. T.V. Matthew -
“Dear Sebastian,
Thanks you for the generous help. We had exhausted all our resources and had been looking for fund. It is God’s inspiration. Thank your pastor for the trouble you all took to collect this amount. It is a big amount and a lot of people will be helped. Your parishioners are great and so very generous. Please thank them in behalf of the people here. I shall let you and your parishioners know what we did with that money.

FLOWERS FOR THE ALTAR OF REPOSE: Easter lilies … Calla lilies … will be welcome to embellish our church this Easter season. Flower Fund donations may be made by placing your contribution in one of the special “Easter Flower envelopes” found behind the pews. You can either drop it in the offering basket or take it to the rectory.

GAY & LESBIAN MINISTRY: The Blessed Sacrament Lesbian & Gay Outreach Ministry is hosting a Potluck on Sunday, after the 5:30pm in the St. Ignatius room. All are welcome. And if you can, bring along a Lucky Pot of your favorite food!

PARISH CENTER NEWS: “My experience at Blessed Sacrament”
” The Community Service program is an essential part of the Loyola High School educational experience. Rooted in the Ignatian and Catholic traditions, the program includes services to the poor, marginalized, and disenfranchised of our community. Through various services experiences, it is hoped that the virtues of generosity, compassion, and wisdom will be further developed in each senior.
“Throughout my experience of working at Blessed Sacrament Social Services, I have learned multiple things that I know will benefit me for the rest of my life. Coming from an affluent area, the experience of working with the homeless of Hollywood opened up my eyes to the social problems that face us today. I feel that I have connected with many of the clients on a personal level simply by hearing their stories and offering what I can to help them. Many of the clients at Blessed Sacrament have been homeless for a large portion of their lives while others are new to the experience of living on the streets.

MINISTERIO DE GAY & LESBIANAS: Se reunira hoy Domingo despues de la Misa de las 5:30pm en el Salon San Ignacio para una convivencia “Potluck”. Todos estan invitados y si pueden traigan su plato favorito para compartir. los esperamos!

NOTICIAS DEL CENTRO PARROQUIAL: “Mi experiencia en la Parroquia del Santisimo Sacramento”
“El programa de servicio a la comunidad es parte esencial de la experiencia educacional del Colegio Secundario Loyola con raices y tradiciones Catolicas Ignacianas. El programa incluye servicios a los pobres, marginados, a los que nada tienen en nuestra comunidad. A traves de varias oportunidades de servicio se espera que virtudes como la generosidad, compasion, y buen sentido comon se desarrollen en cado uno de los estudiantes en los ultimos anos de la escuela secundaria.
“Durante este tiempo en la Oficina de Servicios Sociales de la Parroquia del Santisimo Sacramento, he aprendido un sin numero de cosas que estoy seguro me seran de mucho beneficio para el resto de mi vida. Viniendo de una area diferente, esta esperiencia de trabajar con personas sin hogar en el area de Hollywood me ha dado conocimiento sobre el grave problema social que encaramos en estos tiempos, siendo que personalmente me he identificado con muchas de las personas que vienen al centro, simplemente escuchando sus historias y ofreciendoles mi apoyo. Muchos de ellos han vivido asi por largo tiempo mientras que para otros es una nueva experiencia.”

SERVICIO DE RECONCILIACION DE CUARESMA
Nuestro Servicio de Reconciliacion esta Cuaresma se celebrara el Lunes, 28 de Febrero a las 7:30pm. Tendremos una celebracion multi-lingue. Las Confesiones seran en Ingles y Espanol.

FONDO EN BENEFICIO DE LOS DAMNIFICADOS POR EL MAREMOTO-SURESTE DE ASIA: El Instituto de Medicina Pondicherry, a traves del Dr. T.V. Matthew, quien es doctor, ex-jesuita y amigo del Padre Sebastian fue designado para recibir el monto recolectado en beneficio de la victimas y sobrevivientes del Tsunami. La parroquia recolecto un total de $5,175.00 y estos fondos seran usados para dar consejeria en casos de desastres como en el del maremoto del Sureste de Asia. Abajo publicamos un mensaje enviado por el Dr. T.V. Matthew -

Gracias por tu generosa ayuda. Nosotros ya habiamos acabado con todos nuestros recursos y estabamos pensando de donde adquirir mas fondos. Esto tiene que ser la inspiracion y la obra Divina de Dios. Agradece a tu pastor por toda la molestia que conllevo recaudar esta cantidad. Es una cantidad considerable y mucha gente sera beneficiada. Tus feligreses son maravillosos y muy generosos.
