RECTORY OFFICE CLOSED: The rectory office will be closed on Monday, 3/28 in observance of Cesar E. Chavez holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday as usual.

HISC-(HOLLYWOOD INTERFAITH SPONSORING COMMITTEE): is an affiliate of PICO, a network of more than one thousand religious congregations, schools and neighborhood institutions and one million families working in 150 cities and towns to strengthen families and improve communities. There are 10 churches that are part of HISC, and they represent 24,000 people in the Hollywood Area. Our organizing model helps develop leadership and improve quality of life for residents. Issues have included creating affordable housing opportunities, job creation, making neighborhood safer, improving public schools, immigration, and covering all children with health care.
HISC will hold two important meetings this week:
– Wednesday, March 30th-at 7:00pm at the Hollywood United Methodist Church (corner of Franklin & Highland) - Topic: HELP END HOMELESSNESS IN HOLLYWOOD! Translation in Spanish will be available. L.A. City Council Members Tom LaBonge and Eric Garcetti, and other local officials will be present to address this situation and to find better solutions for homelessness in Hollywood. It is part of our responsibility as Christians to care for those most in need. All parishioners are invited to attend and participate!!
– Thursday, March 31st-7:00pm at Blessed Sacrament School Auditorium. All parishioners are invited to this monthly meeting. On the agenda is a report back on new affordable housing opportunities and health care coverage for children. Come find out how you can make a difference in your community!

PARISH CENTER NEWS:
– The Volunteer Center of Los Angeles through the Senior Community Services Employment Program is offering a training that pays while you train toward becoming gainfully employed in a public or private sector. It will help you get a part-time or full-time job.Qualifications: Age 55 or older. Within Federal low-income guidelines. Willing to improve upon or learn skills.
– On April 2, 2005 we are having a Tax preparation clinic from 10:00am until 2:00pm, first come, first served basis.
– The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is assisting home owners and renters with emergency funding if you suffered any kind of lost with the rainy season.

FELIZ DIA DE PASCUA FLORIDA: El personal de la rectoria le desea a Ud. Y familia un Feliz Dia de Pascua Florida!
Hoy los cielos y la tierra cantan (gritan) el sublime y inefable “nombre” del Crucificado que ha Resucitado. Todo parece que es como antes, pero verdaderamente que ya nada es lo mismo de como fue. El, la Vida que no muere, ha redimido a toda la humanidad y nos ofrece esperanza. (SermOn de Pascua Florida del 2001 del Papa Juan Pablo II)

NOTICIAS DE LA ESCUELA: La Escuela del Santisimo Sacramento estara de vacaciones a partir del 28 de Marzo hasta el 1ero de Abril. Reanudaran las clases el Lunes 4 de Abril.

ADELANTEN SUS RELOJES EL PROXIMO SABADO-HORARIO DE PRIMAVERA/VERANO: El proximo Domingo comenzamos con el horario de primavera/verano. No se olviden de adelantar sus relojes una hora el Sabado antes de irse a dormir, para que no pierdan la hora de llegar a Misa ni a otros compromisos importantes!

NOTICIAS DEL CENTRO PARROQUIAL:
– El Centro de Voluntarios de Los Angeles a travas de su programa de Servicios Comunitarios ofrece Empleos para personas Mayores ofreciendoles entrenamiento de trabajo con salario, para capacitarlos y que puedan obtener empleos en el sector publico y/o privado. Ud podria obtener un trabajo de tiempo completo o medio periodo. Requisitos: Tener 55 anos o mas. Tener el deseo de aprender a traves de su conocimiento. Estar entre los limites de bajos recursos.
– El 2 de Abril tendremos asistencia para llenar los formularios de los impuestos desde las 10:00am hasta las 2:00pm. Le asistiran en el orden de llegada.
– La Agencia Federal que provee Fondos para Emergencias (FEMA) esta dando asistencia a los propietarios y/o personas que alquilan y que tuvieron alguna clase de perdida durante la estacion de lluvias.

– Miercoles 30 de Marzo a las 7:00pm en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Hollywood (en la esquina de Franklin y Highland) - Topico: AYUDEMOS A TERMINAR CON EL PROBLEMA DE LOS INDIGENTES EN HOLLYWOOD! Habra traduccion en Espanol. Los Concejales Tom LaBonge, Eric Garcetti, y otros mas estaran presentes para escuchar nuestros pedidos y sugerencias y para ayudarnos a buscar una mejor solucion al problema de la indigencia en Hollywood. Es parte de nuestra responsabilidad como Cristianos el ver, proteger y cuidar a los mas necesitados de nuestra comunidad. Todos estan invitados a asistir y participar de esta importante reunion.
– Jueves 31 de Marzo a las 7:00pm en el Auditorio de la Escuela-todos los feligreses estan invitados a nuestra junta mensual. En nuestra agenda estara el reporte de nuevas oportunidades sobre viviendas economicas y cobertura de salud medica para los ninos. Venga y encuentre como Usted puede hacer una diferencia en su comunidad!
