Today with joy and gratitude to God, in thanksgiving with the Cardinal electors including our own Cardinal Roger Mahony, we are pleased to share with you the news that Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, taking the name of Pope Benedict XVI was brought to the Chair of Peter. In the days and months ahead, the Pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI will unfold under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and for the service of the Universal Church. As we begin this new chapter in our Church’s history, we encourage all of you to pray this special prayer:

Lord, source of eternal life and truth, give to your shepherd Pope Benedict XVI,
a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love.
By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care may he,
as successor to the apostle Peter and the vicar of Christ,
build your Church into a sacrament of unit, love and peace for all the world.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

PARISH CENTER NEWS: Getting to know the people at the Social Services Office:
Mauricio Marin started working at Blessed Sacrament Social Services as a General Clerk since October 1999. He is in charge of maintaining the Social Services Office clean and ready for the next day activities. He also assists storing donations. When he got this job he had recently moved to USA from El Salvador where he was a Lawyer. He has worked in the Courts in that country, and here he has worked for a while as a Persecutor in one of the Spanish Television Programs. He says he enjoys working here because he has met many interesting people and gets to know people from many different countries.
In his spare time, he enjoys going to the public libraries to continue with his learning, and he is looking forward to go to a University and get to practice what he knows best. For now he is looking forward to his work in keeping this place up and learning about life through the people who visit Social Service.

COMMUNITY INFO: Would you like to have information on how to buy a home? On May 1st, 2005 there will be a seminar in the school auditorium about that topic from 8:00 am to 3:00pm. Come any time during these hours and get the information you need.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION RAFFLE: The Religious Education Dept is having a “raffle” in order to raise funds for its program. The raffle will take place on Saturday, May 7th in the school auditorium. There are three prizes, R. E. reps are outside the church offering these raffle tickets. Thank you for your generosity!!!

Hoy con gran gozo y gratitud hacia Dios, y en agradecimiento al electorado de Cardenales incluyendo nuestro Cardenal Roger Mahony, nos complacemos en anunciarles que el Cardenal Joseph Ratzinger, tomando el nombre de: Papa Benedicto XVI ha sido elegido sucesor de Pedro. En los dias y meses que siguen veremos desarrollarse el Pontificiado del Papa Benedicto XVI bajo la inspiracion del Espiritu Santo y al servicio de la Iglesia Universal. MISA ARQUIDIOCESANA CELEBRANDO LA ELECCION DE NUESTRO SUMO PONTIFICE PAPA BENEDICTO XVI

Todos los miembros de la Arquidiócesis de Los Angeles estan invitados a participar en esta Misa tan importante que marca el comienzo del Pontificiado del Nuevo y Supremo Pastor de la Iglesia Universal.

Los dos jovenes mencionados arriba recibieron su Confirmacion ayer, pero sus nombres no aparecieron en el boletín de la semana pasada. Les pedimos diculpas por esto.

NOTICIAS DEL CENTRO PASTORAL: Conociendo a las personas que trabajan en el Centro Pastoral -
Mauricio Marin empeze a trabajar en Blessed Sacrament Social Services en Octubre de 1999. El esta a cargo del mantenimiento del centro y prepararlo para las actividades del dia siguiente. Tambien asiste en la organizacion de las donaciones.
Cuando el empezo su trabajo en Blessed Sacrament estaba recientemente iniciando su residencia en este pais, y acababa de llegar de su pais natal El Salvador donde el era abogado y habia trabajado en differentes cortes legales en ese pais. Aqui tambien trabajo por un tiempo como Acusador en uno de los programas de la Television Hispana. El disfruta su trabajo aqui porque le da la oportunidad de conocer personas interesantes y hacer amistad con personas de muchos paises. En su tiempo libre le gusta visitar las bibliotecas publicas y continuar con su aprendizaje porque planea algun dia asistir a una universidad y practicar lo que el sabe hacer mejor. Por ahora esta contento con su trabajo en el mantenimiento de este lugar y aprendiendo de la vida atraves de las personas que visitan el Centro de Servicios Sociales.

COMPRAR CASA: El domingo 1 de Mayo habra en el auditorio de la escuela un seminario para las personas que esten interesadas en comprar casa - de las 8:00am a las 3:00pm. Visite el auditorio durante esas horas para obtener informacion.

ESTUDIOS DE LA BIBLIA: Todos estan invitados al estudio del Nuevo Testamento que se esta llevando a cabo todos los Viernes de 7pm a 9pm en el Salon San Ignacio. Para mayores informes, llame a Alland Tobie (213) 389-6782.

ATENCION FELIGRESES: Por favor usen los sobres que envia la Iglesia para hacer sus donaciones. Estos sobres son enviados cada dos meses. Si Ud. No los recibe, puede ser que sea porque usted no esta inscrito en la parroquia, y/o que los datos que tenemos no estan correctos. Llame a la rectoria.

LEGION DE MARIA: Las Legionarias de Maria de la Parroquia del Santisimo Sacramento los invitan al convivio que hacen anualmente y que se llevara a cabo hoy de 1:30pm a 2:30pm en el Salon San Ignacio. Los esperamos!!!

COMITE INTER-RELIGIOSO DE HOLLYWOOD: Tendra una reunion el Jueves 28 de Abril a las 7:00pm en el auditorio de la escuela. Todos estan invitados para asistir y participar en esta reunion.

NOTICIAS DEL DEPTO. DE EDUCACION RELIGIOSA: El Depto de Educacion Religiosa esta promoviendo una “rifa” para recaudar fondos para su programa de catequesis. La rifa se llevara a cabo el Sabado 7 de Mayo en el auditorio de la escuela. Hay tres premios: 1ero premio: una computadora nueva; 2do. Premio: 2 pases para Estudios Universal; 3er. Premio: Un certificado de $40 para el Rest. Teresita. Por favor sean generosos y ayuden al Programa de Educación Religiosa. Representantes del CCD estaran hoy después de las Misas ofreciendo estas rifas. Tambien puede adquirir boletos en la oficina de Educación Religiosa. Gracias!!
