450th anniversary of the death of Ignatius Loyola - died July 31, 1556

TOGETHER IN MISSION 2006 - FOLLOW-UP SUNDAY: Our warm thanks to all of you parishioners who generously made pledges last week. If you were not here then and wish to make a pledge or a gift in support of this vital appeal, there are commitment cards in the pamphlet racks, as well as behind the pews, which you may fill in and drop off at the rectory.

ASH WEDNESDAY: is this Wednesday, March 1. Ashes will be distributed after the homily during the 8:00am and 12:05pm English Masses; and after Liturgy of the Word English-Tagalog Service at 5:30pm; and at 7:30pm Spanish Mass. There will be a 7:30pm Mass in Spanish.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Each Friday at 11:30am (English) in the Church. Fridays at 7:00pm (Spanish) in the Church.Saturdays at 5:30pm (English) in the Church.

FAST AND ABSTINENCE: All Fridays of Lent and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat. Fasting days are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Important announcement: During Lent we try to maintain a very simple church environment, please do not bring flowers. Thank you!

MULTI-LINGUAL LENTEN RECONCILIATION SERVICE: will take place on Monday, March 27 at 7:00pm. Confessions heard in English and Spanish. Please plan to attend this service with your family and friends as we prepare ourselves for Holy Week and our Easter Services.

CHANGE IN MASS SCHEDULE: Starting March 4th, First Saturday of Lent, the 5:30pm English Mass will be discontinued and in its place there will be a 6:00pm Multi-Lingual Mass (English-Tagalog-Spanish) that celebrates the diversity of our parish community.

MINISTRY WITH LESBIANS & GAYS: will have their monthly evening prayer Friday, March 3, at 7:30pm in the Liturgy office. This month’s theme is “You are my child”.

NEXT WEEK’S SUNDAY SALES COORDINATORS: Hospitality Ministry (coffee & donuts)

YOUNG ADULT LENTEN PRAYER GROUP: Fr. Wayne will be leading a Lenten Prayer Group for Young Adults (ages 19-35) on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., until April 13th. The sessions will be conducted in English and will focus on the Sunday Gospels of Lent. For more information contact Fr. Wayne 462-6311.

SOCIAL SERVICES: From one of the Social Service Clients to all of you - “Where do you eat? Where do you take a shower? What would you do if, through no fault of your own, you became homeless? For most, homelessness is a full time job, being on time for feedings taking care of your personal hygiene and for those who are able, trying to find a job. But what about those who are unable to work because of a physical or mental disabilities, we are responsible for our brothers and sisters in Christ. (to be continued next week…)

UNIDOS EN MISION: Deseamos agradecer a todos nuestros feligreses que la semana pasada hicieron su compromiso para la Campaña 2006 de Unidos en Misión. Si por algún motivo Ud. no estuvo presente la semana pasada y desea hacer su compromiso hoy, los sobres correspondientes a esta Campaña se encuentran en los vestíbulos de la Iglesia. Pueden llenar los sobres con su compromiso y entregarlos a la oficina de la rectoría.

MIERCOLES DE CENIZA: Este Miércoles 1 de Marzo es Miércoles de Ceniza, comienzo de la Cuaresma. Las cenizas se distribuirán después de la homilía durante las Misas en Inglés de 8:00am y 12:05pm; después de terminado el Servicio de la Liturgia de la Palabra a las 5:30pm en Inglés y la Misa de las 7:30pm en Español.

VIACRUCIS EN LA IGLESIA: Viernes de Cuaresma a las 11:30am (Inglés) en la Iglesia. Viernes de Cuaresma a las 7:00pm (Español) en la Iglesia - antes de la Misa de las 7:30pm. Sábados de Cuaresma: a las 5:30pm (Inglés).

AYUNO & ABSTINENCIA: Todos los Viernes de Cuaresma y el Viernes Santo son días de abstinencia. Los días de abstinencia no se come carne. Los días de ayuno son: Miércoles de Ceniza y Viernes Santo.

GRUPO DE ORACION DE JOVENES ADULTOS DURANTE LA CUARESMA: El P. Wayne tendrá a su cargo un grupo de oración compuesto de Jóvenes Adultos (entre los 19 y 35 años de edad) los Jueves a las 7:30pm, hasta el 13 de Abril. Las reuniones se conducirán en inglés y se enfocarán en el Evangelio del Domingo correspondiente a la Cuaresma. Para mayores detalles, contactar al P. Wayne al télf: 462-6311.

SERVICIOS SOCIALES: De una persona que usa los Servicios de la Oficina de Servicios Sociales para todos ustedes— “Dónde Ud. come? Dónde Ud. se baña? Qué haría si de repente Ud. se convirtiera e un desamparado? Para la mayoría la indigencia es un trabajo completo, con tener que llegar a tiempo para recibir una comida, tiempo para llegar a un lugar y6 cuidar de su higiene personal, y para los que pueden hacerlo, tratar de buscar trabajo; pero que pasa con los que están imposibilitados para hacerlo debido a discapacidades físicas o mentales, nosotros somos responsible por nuestros hermanos y hermanas en Cristo.
