Come, open us to the wonder, beauty, and dignity of the diversity found in each culture, in each face, and in each experience we have of the other among us.
Come, fill us with generosity as we are challenged to let go and allow others to share with us the goods and beauty of earth.
Come, heal the divisions that keep us from seeing the face of Christ in all men, women, and children.
Come, free us to stand with and for those who must leave their own lands in order to find work, security, and welcome in a new land, one that has enough to share.
Come, bring us understanding, inspiration, wisdom, and the courage needed to embrace change and stay on the journey.

MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY-MONDAY, MAY 28: The rectory office will be closed tomorrow (Monday, May 28th) in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday morning as usual.

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: next Friday, June 1st is the First Friday of the month. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from 8:30am to 9:30am.

CORPUS CHRISTI: On Sunday, June 10, there will be NO 11 am Mass. We will combine the English 11am & Spanish 1pm Masses in a 11:30am Multi-lingual Service celebrating our Parish Titular Feast “The Body & Blood of Christ”. A reception will follow up in the school auditorium.

HEALTH MINISTRY NEWS: The Latin American Lions Club is offering a Vision and Glaucome test - FREE OF CHARGE - today Sunday, May 27 from 9am until 2pm. (First come, first serve). The trailer unit from the Lions Club is parked nearby the Social Services building.

SCHOOL NEWS: Welcome to Blessed Sacrament Summer School! Summer School will be in session from June 25th, 2007 to July 27, 2007. Time 9:00am to 12:30pm. Day Care available from 1:00 to 5:55pm. Applications are available in the school office. It’s not too late to register for the 2007-08 school year. We have affordable tuition rates.

DECORATED CANDLES: Sunday, June 10 is the Feast of Corpus Christi. This is the Liturgical Festivity that best represents our Church: The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament of Communion. In anticipation of such an important event and the colorful procession of our many ministries displaying their banners, our Corpus Christi candles are now available at our booth in the parking lot.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS: Enrollment is open for all those children, youth and adults seeking preparation for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation for the new school year 2007-08. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Alejandro Galindo, a 7th grade student at Blessed Sacrament School, has won 3rd Place in the Mayor’s Creative Writing Contest. The 7th grade class was invited to Barnsdall Art Park on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 for a day of culture and creative writing with the Mayor. The Essay was on celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage 2007.

FERIADO “MEMORIAL DAY” LUNES 28 DE MAYO: La rectoría estará cerrada mañana Lunes con motivo del Feriado de Memorial Day. Reabriremos el Martes en nuestro horario de costumbre.

EXPOSICION DEL SANTISIMO SACRAMENTO: el próximo Viernes 1 de Junio es el primer Viernes del mes. El Santísimo Sacramento estará expuesto desde las 8:30am hasta las 9:30am.

cORPUS CHRISTI: El Domingo 10 de Junio NO tendremos Misa de 1pm. Combinaremos la Misa en Inglés de las 11am y la Misa en Español de la 1pm en un Servicio Multi-lingue a las 11:30 de la mañana con motivo de la celebración de nuestra Fiesta Parroquial - “El Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo.” Tendremos una recepción en el auditorio de la escuela al finalizar la Misa.

NOTICIAS DE LA ESCUELA: Bienvenidos al Curso de Verano de la Escuela del Santísimo Sacramento! El curso de verano empieza el 25 de Junio y termina el 27 de Julio del año en curso. Funcionará de 9:00am a 12:30pm de Lunes a Viernes. Habrá cuidado para los estudiantes después del curso a partir de la 1:00 a 5:55pm. Las solicitudes para este Curso de Verano se encuentran disponibles en la oficina de la escuela. Las matrículas para el año escolar 2007-08 todavía están abiertas. Las mensualidades escolares son bien razonables y cómodas.

VELAS DECORADAS: El Domingo 10 de Junio es la Fiesta de Corpus Christi, esta es la festividad liturgica que mejor representa a nuestra Iglesia: El Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo Jesús en el Santísimo Sacramento de la Comunión. En anticipación a este importante evento y la colorida procesión de nuestros muchos ministerios orgullosamente desfilando con sus estandartes, nuestras velas de Corpus Christi ya se encuentran a la venta en nuestro puesto localizado en el estacionamiento.

EDUCACION RELIGIOSA: El programa de Educación Religiosa está recibiendo solicitudes para la preparación a los Sacramentos de Primera Comunión y Confirmación de niños y adultos para su programa del 2007-208 a comenzar en Septiembre. FELICITACIONES!!! Alejandro Galindo, aluno del Séptimo Grado de la Escuela del Santísimo Sacramento, ha ganado el Tercer Lugar en un Concurso sobre Creativadad Escrita auspiciado por el Alcade. La Clase del Séptimo Grado fue invitada al Parque Barnsdall Art el Martes 22 de Mayo para un dia de cultura y creatividad estcrita con el Alcalde. El tema escogido para el concurso fue la celebración de la Herencia Cultural Asiatica y de las Islas del Pacífico 2007.
