CHOIR NEWS: The A Cappella Choir is once again having a Silent Auction in conjunction with their Annual Cabaret Concert on June 29th and 30th. They’re currently looking for donations of auction items from local businesses. The auction was hugely successful last year, and this is an excellent advertising opportunity for you and your business. All proceeds from the auction support the Blessed Sacrament Music Department. During the summer months, our parish choirs and instrumentalists take various, well-deserved rests and vacations. We encourage all of our parishioners and visiting guests to support our cantors and accompanists in singing during the Masses. All of our parish choirs and instrumentalists will return in the beginning of September.

HEALTH MINISTRY NEWS: The South American Lions Club has provided us with a box so that we can collect unused glasses. If you or someone you know have glasses that are not using anymore, please bring them to the rectory office. The Lions Club will donate these eye glasses to needy people who may need them. Let’s give the gift of good sight to someone who needs it! Thank you!

SCHOOL NEWS: Welcome to Blessed Sacrament Summer School! Summer School will be in session from June 25th, 2007 to July 27, 2007. Time 9:00am to 12:30pm. Day Care available from 1:00 to 5:55pm. Applications are available in the school office. It’s not too late to register for the 2007-08 school year. We have affordable tuition rates.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS: Enrollment is open for all those children, youth and adults seeking preparation for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation for the new school year 2007-08. Please come and/or call the Office of Religious Education for more information-(323) 463-9820.

IT’S CABARET TIME! It’s that time of the year again when the Blessed Sacrament A Cappella Choir steps out and puts on a really great show. This year’s theme is “Of Angels and Saints”. Bring your entire family for a night of inspirational song, fun, food and a chance to bid on silent auction prizes. The show runs Friday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the School Auditorium. For more information and tickets, call (323) 462-6311.

Saturday 6:00 PM Mass to revert to Mass in English, but with a Multi-cultural twist — Effective Saturday June 30/Sunday July 1.
The Liturgy Leadership Committee (LLC) and the priests have agreed on ending the “Multi-lingual” character of the Saturday, 6PM, Vigil Mass. The Mass will be celebrated entirely in English. However, the LLC and the priests recommend that we not abandon our goal of building a community that seeks unity among cultures and fosters respect for all our ethnic/language communities. Multi-lingual/multi-cultural liturgical celebrations are one unique way in which we bring everyone together to celebrate our unity amid our diversity.
Therefore, the LLC and the priests recommend that parish-wide liturgical celebrations, along with any special commissioning, take place at the Saturday, 6PM Vigil Mass. In such case, these special celebrations would be multi-lingual and multi-cultural. Below is a tentative list of such multi-lingual/multi-cultural feasts where the entire community does and should come together:
1. Vigil of Pentecost
2. Vigil of Corpus Christ
3. Catechetical Sunday and Commission of Catechist/Grammar School Teachers
4. Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz
5. Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus/San Judeo Tadeo
6. Simbang Gabi-Posadas Mass
7. Easter Vigil (at 7:30PM)

Did You Know? listen to Your Children
This summer, when your children are out of school, on different schedules, are meeting new people and going to new places, make sure that you talk to them often about their experiences and the people they’ve met. Listen carefully to your children. If possible, observe and get to know the other children and adults who are part of your children’s summertime fun. Above all, communicate your safety concerns to your children. Make sure they know that they can come to you with any concerns they may have about the people they interact with. And, if you hear of or observe behaviors that may be inappropriate, make sure to communicate your feelings to people who are in a position to intervene. Communication is key to creating and maintaining a safe environment all year round. NOTICIAS DEL CORO: El Coro A Capella llevará a cabo una Subasta Silenciosa en conjunto con el Concierto Annual Titulado Cabaret el 29 y 30 de Junio. Estamos en el proceso de solicitar de las tiendas locales objetos para subastar. Esta subasta tuvo gran suceso el año pasado, y es una gran oportunidad para auspiciar a los negocios. Todo el dinero recolectado de esta subasta es en favor del Departmento de Música de la Iglesia del Santísimo Sacramento. Durante los meses de verano, los miembros de nuestros coros e instrumentalistas toman unas bien merecidas vacaciones. NOTICIAS DE LA ESCUELA: Bienvenidos al Curso de Verano de la Escuela del Santísimo Sacramento! El curso de verano empieza el 25 de Junio y termina el 27 de Julio del año en curso. Funcionará de 9:00am a 12:30pm de Lunes a Viernes. Habrá cuidado para los estudiantes después del curso a partir de la 1:00 a 5:55pm. Las solicitudes para este Curso de Verano se encuentran disponibles en la oficina de la escuela. Las matrículas para el año escolar 2007-08 todavía están abiertas. Las mensualidades escolares son bien razonables y cómodas.

EDUCACION RELIGIOSA: El programa de Educación Religiosa está recibiendo solicitudes para la preparación a los Sacramentos de Primera Comunión y Confirmación de niños y adultos para su programa del 2007-208 a comenzar en Septiembre. MINISTERIO DE LA SALUD: El Club de Leones Latinoamericano nos ha proporcionado un recipiente para
recolectar anteojos (lentes). Si usted o alguién que usted conoce tiene anteojos que ya no los use o no le sirvan, favor de traerlos a la oficina de la rectoría para ser donados a otra persona que los pueda usar. Brindemos el regalo de la vista a alguién que lo necesite! Gracias!

SERVICIOS SOCIALES:
– Todos los Sabados a partir de las 10:00 am estaremos ofreciendo ayuda para llenar sus formularios de Immigracion tales como: - Residencia Permanente - Ciudadania - Peticion Familiar - Authorizacion de Empleo - Traducciones. En caso que lo necesite se le referirá sin costo alguno a un abogado para ayuda legal, no deje pasar esta oportunidad.
– Tenemos aplicaciones de trabajo para el verano, para jovenes de 14 a 21anos de edad , atravez de el programa de jovenes de la Arquidiocesis. El Programa de assistencia con las facturas de la Compania de Gas termina el dia 30 de Junio, llame y haga su cita antes de esa fecha.

CONCIERTO AL ESTILO CABARET: Ya está de vuelta el Concierto que presenta todos los años el Coro A Capella de la Parroquia del Santísimo Sacramento. El tema escogido para este año se titula: “ De Angeles y Santos”. Traigan a toda su familia para disfrutar de una noche llena de cantos inspiracionales, diversión, comida y la oportunidad de poder participar en la subasta silenciosa. El show comienza el Viernes, 29 de Junio a las 7:30pm, y continúa el Sábado, 30 de Junio a las 7:30pm en el auditorio de la escuela. Para mayores detalles y la venta de los boletos sírvanse llamara a la oficina de la rectoría.

SABADO 6:00 PM MISA. La Misa de las 6:00pm del Sábado se oficiará en Inglés solamente, pero con toque Multi-cultural, haciendose efectivo el cambio a partir del fin de semana del 30 de Junio/1 de Julio.
El Comité de Liturgía y los sacerdotes han acordado en poner fin al carácter “Multi-lingue” de la Misa de Vigilia del Sábado a las 6pm. Esta Misa será celebrada por completo en inglés. A pesar de esta medida, el Comité de Liturgía y los sacerdotes no desean abandonar completamente nuestra meta de construir una comunidad que busca la unión entre todas sus diferentes cultural y respeta todos los idiomas y etnecias de nuestra comunidad. Por medio de celebraciones Multi-lingues y Multi-culturales podemos abarcar a toda la comunidad de una manera especial y juntos celebrar nuestra unidad dentro de la misma diversidad.
Por lo tanto, el Comité de Liturgía y los sacerdotes recomiendan que celebraciones especiales, conjuntamente con comisionados especiales, se lleven a cabo los Sábados a las 6pm durante la Misa de Vigilia. Estas celebraciones especiales serán multi-lingues y multi-culturales. Abajo listamos algunas de estas fiestas donde la comunidad entera se debe unir:

- Vigilia del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo

Sabe Usted? Escuche a Sus Hijos

Escuche cuidadosamente a sus hijos. Si es posible, observe y conozca a los otros niños y adultos que participan en la diversión de verano de sus hijos. Sobre todo, comuníqueles a sus hijos su inquietud de que no les pase nada. Asegúrese de que ellos sepan que pueden comunicarle a usted cualquier inquietud que ellos tengan sobre las personas con las que se relacionan. Y si escucha u observa conductas que pueden ser inapropiadas, asegúrese de comunicar su inquietud a personas que estén en posición de intervenir.
