MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY-MONDAY, MAY 26: The rectory office will be closed tomorrow (Monday, May 26th) in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday morning as usual.

L.A VOICE: A few years ago, LA Voice and our congregation organized the community to get benefits from the big project currently being built on Hollywood and Vine. Now, LA Voice is proud to announce a Job and Training Fair for construction work, such as drywall, painting, sheet metal, and other trades. The Fair will be held on Saturday, May 31 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Music Box Theater at 6126 Hollywood Boulevard., near Gower Street.
– LA Voice also needs your help. Last year many important City Council members promised that they would work on a law that would create more affordable housing. We need to remind them of their promise. To participate, join LA Voice this Tuesday night, May 27, at 7:00 pm in the school auditorium. At 7:45 pm we’ll join our brothers and sisters, and travel to a neighboring church for a Prayer Vigil. Then, on Wednesday morning, we’ll go to City Hall. FR. FRED O’BRIEN, S.J.: We are sad to inform you that Fr. Fred O’Brien died peacefully on Monday, May 19, at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. May he rest in God’s Peace. Funeral Services will be held in New York. A Memorial Mass will be said at Blessed Sacrament in thanksgiving for the life of Fr. Fred on Wednesday, May 28 at 7:30p.m. All are invited. The Jesuit Community asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Blessed Sacrament School in Memory of Fr. Fred O’ Brien, SJ. Fr. O’Brien served many years as a teacher and administrator in Jesuit education. These donations will honor his memory and work in our Jesuit school.

La Voz de Los Angeles: Hace unos pocos años La Voz de Los Angeles y nuestra Congregación organizaron la comunidad para adquirir beneficios de un gran proyecto que en la actualidad ha sido construido en Hollywood y Vine. Ahora la Voz de Los Angeles esta orgullosa de anunciar un feria para empleos y entrenamiento para trabajos de construcción, etc.. La feria se llevará a cabo el sábado, mayo 31 de las 9am a 1pm en el “Music Box Theater” en el 6126 Hollywood Blvd. Cerca de la calle Gower.
– La Voz de Los Angeles, también necesita su ayuda. El año pasado muchos concejales importantes de la cuidad, prometieron que trabajarían en una ley que pudiera crear apartamentos para personas de bajos recursos. Necesitamos recordarles su promesa. Para participar reúnase con La Voz de Los Angeles este martes 27 de Mayo a las 7p.m. en el auditorio de la escuela. A las 7:45pm estaremos reunidos con nuestros hermanos y hermanas e iremos a una Iglesia vecina para una vigilia de Oración.
