Advent Contemplative Prayer: The Ignatian Spirituality Program will sponsor an Advent Evening of Contemplative Prayer, Thursday, December 4, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., in the second floor meditation room of  church. EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: Next Friday, Dec. 5th is the 1st. Friday of the month and the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from 8:30am to 9:30am.

PARISH POSADAS & SIMBANG GABI CELEBRATION: We invite all Blessed Sacrament congregation to celebrate with us the “PARISH POSADA & SIMBANG GABI”on Saturday, December 20th at 6:00pm. An inter-cultural procession will take place before the Liturgy with reception to follow in the school auditorium. All parishioners, family and friends are welcome!

BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISH  RECONCILIATION  SERVICE (BILINGUAL) – Monday, December 1st, 2008-@ 7:00pm. This is a ceremony where we remember God’s forgiveness and offer the parish an opportunity to go to the Sacrament of Confession.  The service will be bilingual and we will  have priests to hear confessions in Spanish and English. Make plans to attend this evening as part of your Advent preparation for the nativity of Jesus Christ.

POINSETTIA OFFERING – A GIFT OF LOVE: We invite the community of Blessed Sacrament at all the Masses on Sunday, Dec. 17 to bring a Poinsettia for a special offering and procession during the offertory. Flowers can be donated in memory of, or in honor of a loved one. During the week of Dec. 17-23 flowers can be delivered to the rectory office. We thank you in advance for your generosity!

CHRISTMAS TREES: We are accepting donations to help defray the cost of the Christmas trees used for decoration during Christmastime. Please place your donation in the “Flower envelopes” provided in the back of the pews. Put it in the collection basket with your regular weekly donation or bring it to the rectory office. OLG ARCHDIOCESAN CELEBRATION: Parishioners are invited to the traditional archdiocesan procession in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe that will take place at the East Los Angeles College Stadium on December 7. The procession will begin at the corner of Cesar Chavez and the Long Beach fwy (710) at 12 noon. English will be part of the Liturgy which will begin at 1:30pm.  The stadium will be open at 11:00am for a pre-liturgy celebration for those who do not want to walk. The Blessed Sacrament Ministry with Lesbian & Gay Catholics will have  an Evening of Prayer, followed by a Christmas social gathering in the  Liturgy office on Thursday, December 11th.  All interested in this ministry are welcome to attend.

Catholic Charities in conjunction with Social Services at Blessed Sacrament, Inc. will offer FREE services for any person who is eligible to apply for US Citizenship. There will be two sessions that will take place on Monday, December 1st and Tuesday, December 2nd in the Social Services building from 2:00pm to 9:00pm. All parishioners and community in general are encouraged to take advantage of this service that could result being FREE of charges if the person qualifies for waiver. You are required to bring with you all your documentation so that a Catholic Charities representative can review it and inform you of what else is needed. LA POSADA PARROQUIAL Y CELEBRACION DE SIMBANG GABI: El Sábado 20 de Dic a las 6:00pm celebraremos la “Posada Parroquial y Simbang Gabi”. SERVICIO DE RECONCILIACION – Lunes. 1 de Diciembre del 2008- 7:00pm. Esta es una ceremonia donde recordamos el perdón de Dios y ofrecemos a todos los feligreses la oportunidad de confesarse.
