POINSETTIA OFFERING – A GIFT OF LOVE: We invite the community of Blessed Sacrament to bring Poinsettias to embelish our church for Christmas.
Flowers can be donated in memory of, or in honor of a loved one, and can be brought from Dec, 17-23. Flowers can be delivered to the rectory office. We thank you in advance for your generosity!

CHRISTMAS TREES: We are accepting donations to help defray the cost of the Christmas trees used for decoration during Christmastime. Please place your donation in the “Flower envelopes” provided in the back of the pews. Put it in the collection basket with your regular weekly donation or bring it to the rectory office. Thank you!!!

Father General Adolfo Nicolás, SJ, to visit Blessed Sacrament Church: The leader of the Society of Jesus, the Jesuits, Fr. General Adolfo Nicholas, SJ, will visit Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, February 1, 2009. He will preside at a multi-lingual Mass at 11:00 a.m. and will be available to meet visitors immediately afterwards in a reception to be held in the school auditorium. Please mark your calendars of this very special event and please plan on attending!

PARISH POSADAS & SIMBANG GABI CELEBRATION: We invite all Blessed Sacrament congregation to celebrate with us the “PARISH POSADA & SIMBANG GABI”on Sunday , December 21th at 5:30pm. An inter-cultural procession will take place before the Liturgy with reception to follow in the school auditorium. All parishioners, family and friends are welcome!

MISSAL ON SALE: English misssals  for the year 2009  on sale at the rectory office, and Sundays after all the Masses, at the price of $4.00 per missal.

HEALTH MINISTRY NEWS: The South American Lions Club has provided us with a box so that we can collect unused eye glasses. If you or someone you know have eye glasses that are not using  anymore, please bring them to the rectory office. The Lions Club will donate these eye glasses to needy people who may need them. Let’s give the gift of good sight to  someone who needs it ! Thank you!

2DA COLECTA A BENEFICIO DEL  FONDO DE JUBILACIÓN PARA RELIGIOSOS: Hoy tenemos una Segunda Colecta a beneficio del Fondo de la Jubilación de Religiosos. 19,521 religiosos tienen menos del 20 por ciento de la cantidad estimada para su jubilación y sus cuidado para la salud.  94 centavos de cada dólar donado se usa para ayudar al os religiosos  ancianos. Los sobres correspondientes se encuentran detrás de las bancas.  Gracias!

RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS  2nd COLLECTION: Today we have a Second collection on behalf of the Retirement Fund for Religious. 19,521 religious have less the 20 percent of the amount projected for retirement and health care. 94 percent of every dollar donated is applied directly to the retirement fund.   Donation envelopes are placed behind the pews. Thank you!

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY: They will meet Sat, Dec. 20 at 3pm in the Liturgy Office. All are invite to attend and participate! For more information call Pauline Baglioni at 323 851-6609. This ministry meets every two weeks.

The Society of Jesus (Jesuits) will be hosting a “Come and See” gathering at their novitiate in Culver City (10775 Deshire Place) on Sunday, Dec. 21 from 9:30a.m. to 3p.m. Single men, ages 18 to 45, who would like to learn more about the Jesuits or exploring a vocation to religious life are invited to come. There will be Mass, prayer periods, vocation stories from Jesuit novices/priests/brothers, and a question-and-answer session. Lunch will be included. Please RSVP for this event; to do so, contact Br. Did You Know? Holiday season child safety tips
The holidays can present potentially dangerous situations for children. Some simple prevention measurers can help keep your children safe during the season.
1. If possible, leave small children at home with a trusted babysitter.
2. Teach your child to go to a store clerk and ask for help in case your child is separated from you.
3. Teach children to stay close to you at all times while shopping.
4. Never allow children to make unaccompanied trips to the restroom.
5. Teach children their full name, address and telephone number to give to police officers or mall security.

COORDINADORES DE LA VENTA DEL  PROXIMO DOMINGO: Cristo Negro (café & donuts)

Padre General Adolfo NicolÀs, S.J. visitarÀ la iglesia del santísimo sacramento: El líder de la Compañía de Jesús, Congregación de los Padres Jesuitas, Padre General Adolfo Nicolás, SJ, visitará nuestra parroquia del Santísimo Sacramento el Domingo, 1ero de Febrero del 2009.  El presidirá una Misa multi-lingue a las 11:00am y luego estará disponible para entrevistarse y conocer personalmente a los miembros de esta parroquia y amigos en general después de la Misa durante una recepción que se llevará a cabo en el auditorio de la escuela. Favor marquen sus calendarios con este evento tan especial y esperamos vernos favorecidos con su presencia!

LA POSADA PARROQUIAL Y CELEBRACION DE SIMBANG GABI: El Domingo 21 de Dic. a las 5:30pm celebraremos la “Posada Parroquial y Simbang Gabi”. Invitamos a toda la congregación a que se una a nosotros en esta celebración. Habrá una procesión inter-cultural antes de la Liturgia y después una recepción en el auditorio. MINISTERIO DE SALUD: El Club de Leones Latinoamericano nos ha proporcionado un recipiente para recolectar anteojos (lentes). Si usted o alguien que usted conoce tiene anteojos que ya no los  use o no le sirvan, favor de tráelos al oficina de la rectoría para ser donados a otra persona que los pueda usar. Sabe Usted? Consejos para la seguridad de los niños durante las fiestas Navideñas
Los días de fiesta pueden presentar situaciones potencialmente peligrosas para los niños. Algunas medidas simples de prevención pueden ayudar a mantener a sus hijos seguros durante esta temporada.
1. Si es posible, deje a los niños pequeños en casa con una niñera de confianza.
2. Enseñe a sus niños a pedir ayuda al vendedor del almacén en caso de que se separen de usted.
3. Enseñe a sus niños a siempre permanecer cerca de usted mientras que hace sus compras en el almacén.
4. Nunca permita que los niños vallan solos al los baños públicos.
5. Enséñele a sus hijos su nombre completo, dirección y número de teléfono para que ellos puedan darle estos datos a oficiales de la policía o seguridad del centro comercial si es necesario.
