Lenten Morning of Prayer and Reflection: The Ignatian Spirituality Program will sponsor a Lenten Morning of Prayer and Reflection led by Fr. Ron Schmidt, SJ, documentary producer, Saturday, March 28, 2009, 9:00 a.m. – 12 NOON, in the Meditation Room of the church. Donation for the retreat morning is $10. FLOWERS FOR THE ALTAR OF REPOSE: Easter lilies…Calla lilies…will be welcome to embellish our church this Easter season. Flower Fund donations may be made by placing your contribution in one of the special “Easter Flower envelopes” found behind the pews. You can either drop it in the offering basket or take it to the rectory.

SCHOOL NEWS: Blessed Sacrament School is now accepting applications for the school year 2009-2010. Affordable tuition, high academic test scores, scholarships are available if you qualify. Our pre-school will open in September 2009 for children ages 3 and 4 year olds. For more information please come to the school office or call at 323 467-4177.

SEASON OF LENT – STATIONS OF THE CROSS Fridays at 11:30 a.m.

FAST AND ABSTINENCE: Ash Wednesdays, Fridays of Lent and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat. Fasting days are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

L.A. VOICE: Join our parish and LA Voice in saying “Yes!” to affordable housing. This weekend, we are launching a two week campaign to make 1000 phone calls to the Chair of the Housing Committee, Council member Herb Wesson. Join us in calling Mr. Wesson and asking him to pass a strong Mixed Income Housing Ordinance by June. Tell his office your name and your church. Ask the person you speak with to make sure Mr. Wesson gets the message. We’ve set up a toll free number in English and Spanish. It’s: 1-888-531-1335. SHIRTS – APRONS: We are now selling Polo Shirts and Aprons embroidered with the Blessed Sacrament logo. These items are very affordable, because they are sold at cost. They are available at the parking lot after all the Sunday morning Masses.

NOTICIAS DE LA ESCUELA: La Escuela del Santísimo Sacramento esta aceptando aplicaciones para el año escolar del 2009-2010. LIRIOS PARA EL ALTAR DE REPOSO: Pueden dejar sus donativos en los sobres especiales “Flores para Pascua Florida” que se encuentran detrás de las bancas. Este dinero servirá para adornar nuestra Iglesia durante la Semana Santa.

LA VOZ DE LOS ANGELES: Únase a nuestra parroquia y La Voz de Los Angeles diciendo “¡Sí!” a la ordenanza para construir viviendas a precios moderados. Este fin de semana, en conjunto con otras 22 iglesias, estamos lanzando una campaña para hacer 1000 llamadas al Señor Herb Wesson, Concejal y Jefe del Comité de Vivienda. Le pedimos que lo llame y le pida que apruebe y haga pasar una fuerte ordenanza de vivienda para ingresos mixtos antes de Junio. Llame y deje su nombre, el nombre de la iglesia a la cual pertenece, y pídales que pasen el mensaje al Sr. Wesson. Hay personas bilingües en la oficina, lo pueden atender tanto en español como en ingles. El número de teléfono es: 1-888-531-1335. Solo toma cinco minutos hacer la llamada..
