CELEBRATION OF SANTO NIÑO DE CEBU HERE AT THE CHURCH OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT JANUARY 23rd AT 6:00 P.M.
The Santo Niño was considered to be the patron saint of Cebu. However, the Santo Niño is a representation of Jesus Christ as a child. The Catholic Church in the Philippines sets the Holy Child as an example of humility, and as a celebration of the Incarnation. Many Cebuanos do not consider the Christmas season over until the Feast of the Santo Niño.

We are pleased to announce that Blessed Sacrament’s pre-school will officially open on February 1. This brand new facility has been made possible thanks to the generosity of parishioners, supporters and donors to last year’s Cardinal’s Awards Dinner. Applications are being accepted now for this very special place where children from three to five can learn in a nurturing environment. In other school news, a new music program has been launched at Blessed Sacrament’s Elementary School. And it is already receiving very high marks. BLESSED SACRAMENT SCHOOL 2ND. COLLECTION: Today, at all the Masses, we are celebrating “Blessed Sacrament School Day” A Second Collection will be taken up at all the Masses on behalf of our school and a school teacher and/or representative from the PTG will address the congregation on school issues. Please remember in your prayers our school faculty; lay employees; students; parents and the Jesuit priests who work so hard together to bring the best education and spiritual guidance to our children.

L.A VOICE NEWS: Blessed Sacrament’s Organizing Committee, LA Voice, invites you to our monthly meeting this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Xavier room in the school. We will discuss actions we can take regarding more housing for our families and how to respond to local development and related job opportunities.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: Our next Parish Council meeting will take place on Saturday, January 16, at 8:45am in the Parish Center. All ministries representatives are welcome to attend and participate.

Esta gran apertura ha sido posible, gracias a la generosidad de muchos parroquianos quienes donaron y patrocinaron la Cena de premios que realizó el Señor Cardenal el año pasado. Estamos aceptando solicitudes de matrícula en esta escuelita para niños de tres a cinco años en la que puedan aprender en un buen ambiente educacional.
