Hail Mary the Queen Concert: Mark your calendars now the Hail Mary the Queen Children’s Choir Concert scheduled for Monday, April 21, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., here at Blessed Sacrament Church. The choir is internationally known and most recently won gold and silver medals at the Asian Choir Olympics in Indonesia. Tickets are $15 for adult and $7 for children. CARDINAL MCINTYRE FUND FOR CHARITY - “My flesh will dwell in Hope.”(Acts 2:26)
Next Sunday is the parish yearly appeal for the Cardinal McIntyre Fund for Charity. Through the generosity of the annual Sunday collection and of private donors in 2007, the Cardinal McIntyre fund for Charity financially supported parishes with $388,846.00. The Fund provided help in time crisis in some of the following areas:
* Approximately $355K in rent, food and transportation, especially for those who lost their jobs this year.
* Over $15K in keeping the lights and heat on for families, paying medical bills and tuition for children.
* Over $20K assisting in funeral cost and emergency needs. Envelopes will be provided in the pews.

SUNDAY SALES COORDINATORS: Carismatics (coffee & donuts)

MISSALS ON SALE: English missals for the year 2008 are on sale at the rectory office at half price of $2.00 per missal.

MINISTRY WITH LESBIANS & GAYS: the Ministry with Lesbian and Gay Catholics is hosting a brunch potluck on Sunday April 27, following the 11am Mass. The potluck will be held in the garden area behind the church. All interested in this very active ministry are invited to join. And bring something tasty as well!

HEALTH MINISTRY NEWS: The Latin American Lions Club will be offering a Vision and Glaucoma screening- FREE OF CHARGE- on Sunday, April 27 from 9am until 2pm. (First come, first serve). The trailer unit from the Lions Club will be parked nearby the Social Services building.

SCHOOL NEWS: Blessed Sacrament School will be celebrating our Annual Multicultural week from April 21 to April 25, 2008. We would like to invite the parishioners to view the work of the children on Thursday, April 24, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. You can still register your child /children for the 2008- 2009 School year.

ALTAR SEVERS: Please come to the meeting scheduled for Saturday April 26 at 9:30am in the School Lunch area. Don’t miss it!!!

SOCIAL SERVICES: Funds are still available for anyone needing assistance in paying their Edison electric bill. Appointments are necessary please call the Social Service office after 2:00 PM for more information (323) 871-8042.
Seniors and disabled veterans are added to list of aid recipients for the stimulus bill, Social Service will assist seniors in completing the special stimulus tax form. bring your form and the Social Security award letter for assistance.

Roberta Dolores Gorski, our friend, parishioner & volunteer passed away on March 13, 2008. Memorial Services will be on, April 26 at 1:30pm. Here at Blessed Sacrament. Please keep our friend of Blessed Sacrament in your prayers.

Las personas retiradas y los veteranos fueron agregados a la lista para recibir un crédito que el Gobierno enviara a todos las personas este año, (Stimulus Bill) Servicios Sociales puede ayudarlo a completar su forma, deberá traer la carta que le envía la oficina de Seguro Social, en la que describe sus ingresos.

EL FONDO DEL CARDENAL MCINTYRE PARA LA CARIDAD - “Mi carne reposara en la esperanza”(Hch 2:26) El próximo Domingo es nuestra Colecta Dominical Parroquial: para el Fondo Cardenal McIntyre para La Caridad. A través de la generosidad manifestada en lo colecta Anual Dominical y de donantes particulares, el Fondo McIntyre para la Caridad reintegro a las parroquias $388,486.00. El Fondo ayudo en situaciones criticas en algunas de las siguientes áreas:
* Aproximadamente $335 mil en renta, comida y transporte especialmente quienes perdieron su trabajo este año.
* Mas de $15 mil para proveer electricidad y calefacción para las familias, pago de facturas medicas y colegiatura para los niños.
* Mas de $20 mil para gastos funerarios y otras emergencias inesperadas. Encontrara los sobres respectivos en las bancas de su Iglesia.
