* Theme/Tema: We are the Body of Christ with all of our diversity

* The Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ is our Parish Feast
* This is the Celebration of Blessed Sacrament
* This Parish has served the people of Hollywood since 1904 when it was centered in a little church building at the corner of Cherokee and Hollywood Blvd,
* And since 1928 in this beautiful church building
* Many Things have changed in Los Angeles and Hollywood over the years.
* Life is much more complicated now than it was in those earlier years.

* Hoy, celebramos la Fiesta Patronal de Nuestra Parroquia
* La fiesta del Santísimo Sacramento
* Esta parroquia ha sido al servicio de Hollywood desde el año 1904 cuando estaba ubicada en un edificio en la equina de la Hollywood Blvd. y la Cherokee.
* y desde 1928 cuando se construyó este templo tan grande.
* Mucho se ha cambiado a lo largo de los años.
* De hecho, la vida de hoy es mucho mas complicada que la vida de esa época.

* Today our parish, like Los Angeles, is a diverse community of languages and cultures:
* For me, our parish is reflective of the diversity of the Body of Christ that St. Paul talks about in his letter to the Corinthians.
* The Richness of the Cultural Mix here is fabulous.
* I absolutely LOVE IT.

* Hoy Día, Nuestra parroquia, tanto como la ciudad de Los Ángeles, es una comunidad diversa, con idiomas distintos, y culturas distintas
* Para mi, Nuestra parroquia de hoy se refleja la diversidad del Cuerpo de Cristo de que San Pablo habla en la carta a los Corintios.
* La riqueza de esta diversidad es fabulosa
* Me encanta la comunidad por completo.

* Of course, this diversity does have its challenges:
* How do we communicate with one another when we speak different languages?
* How do we come to understand one another across different cultures, different races, and different sexual orientations?
* Nevertheless we are the Body of Christ – If we cannot come to appreciate one another in the community of the Church, how can we ever expect to live at peace with one another in our neighborhoods, or in our city or in our world?

* Por supuesto esta diversidad siempre nos hacen retos:
* ¿Cómo nos vamos a comunicar cuando hablamos lenguas diferentes?
* ¿Cómo nos vamos a entender unos a otros tras diferencias de cultura, diferencias de raza, diferencias de orientación sexual, etc.?
* Sin embargo somos el Cuerpo de Cristo – si nosotros no podemos lograr este fin dentro de la comunidad de la iglesia, no hay ninguna manera de lograrlo ni dentro de nuestros vecindarios, nuestra ciudad, ni nuestro mundo.

* God has not left us Orphans in our task:
* In the Eucharist, Jesus in a special way has given us His Body and Blood to nourish us and to sustain us in our efforts.
* St Paul says, “Many and diverse though we are, we all partake of the one Bread and share the same Cup.”

* Nuestro Dios no nos ha dejado desamparados en nuestra tarea
* En el Eucaristía, el Señor Jesús, nos ha dado su cuerpo y sangre en una manera especial para alimentarnos y para sostenernos en nuestra lucha.
* San Pablo dice, “Aunque somos muchos, formamos un solo cuerpo, porque participamos del mismo pan.”

* This Eucharist that we share, however, is not just for us.
* In sharing this Sacred Meal, we are invited to become more the Body of Christ.
* In sharing this meal we commit ourselves, with God’s help, to nourish a hungry world:
* By sharing the Good News that we have heard in Scripture, and by ministering to those in need both within our church community and outside of it

* Pero, la Eucaristía que compartimos no es solo para nuestro bien
* Al compartir esta Cena Sagrada, llegamos a ser todavía más el Cuerpo de Cristo
* Al compartir esta Cena, nos comprometemos, con el favor de Dios, a alimentar el mundo hambriento:
* Por medio de compartir la Buena Nueva que hemos recibido de las Sagradas Escrituras, y por medio de servir a los necesitados tanto dentro de la iglesia como por afuera.

* We are Blessed Sacrament
* May we always rejoice in God’s presence among us,
* May we always be a Witness to God’s love for the world.

* Somos El Santísimo Sacramento
* Que siempre alegremos en la presencia de Dios entre nosotros
* Que siempre seamos testigos del amor de Dios para nuestro mundo.

* For me, it has been an tremendous honor to share this community with you for the last 13 years,
* Ha sido un gran honor compartir esta comunidad con ustedes a lo largo de los últimos 13 años.
