· Introduction:
· In the first reading from the book of Exodus, we remember that in ancient times, contracts were sealed very often with blood. In this reading, we see how God seals with blood also his covenant with his people, Israel.
· Sprinkling with baptismal water carries the same symbolism.

· En la primera lectura del libro de Éxodo, nos acordamos que en la antigüedad, los pactos se sellaban a menudo con sangre. En esta lectura vemos como Dios sella también con sangre su alianza con el pueblo de Israel.
· El rociar con el agua bautismal lleva el mismo simbolismo.

· In the second reading, from the letter to the Hebrews, we heard that the New Covenant between God and us is not sealed with the blood of animals, but rather with the blood of Jesus, the only mediator of the New Covenant.

· En la Segunda lectura de la carta a los Hebreos, escuchamos que la Alianza Nueva de Dios con nosotros no se sella con sangre de animales, sino con la misma sangre de Jesucristo, el único mediador, de esta nueva Alianza.

· In the Gospel from St. Mark, we felt present en the Last Supper with Jesus and his Apostles. We believe that each time we gather to celebrate the Eucharist; we make present what Jesus did at that meal.

· As we celebrate both Father’s Day and the Feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord, many images come together.
· The father that we celebrate is the man who gives himself completely to his wife and to his family.
· His wife and his family become the body that is the focus of his life.
· He works and sheds blood, sweat and tears along with his wife to assure that his children are educated and prepared for their future.
· The Feast of the Blessed Sacrament carries the same imagery
· The Eucharist we share at Mass brings us together to form one body – the Body of Christ.
· We work together and shed blood, sweat and tears to build up the Body of Christ in Hollywood.

· El padre que celebramos es un hombre que se entrega por completo a su esposa y a sus hijos.
· Su esposa y sus hijos llegan a ser el cuerpo que es el punto central de su vida.

· As the Church of the Blessed Sacrament,
· We are the Body of Christ, not for ourselves, but for the people we meet every day – friends, family, and co-workers.
· We realize in this diverse world in which we live, that we may be the only face of Jesus that these people ever see.
· We realize the when we come together as a church to serve the community of Hollywood, with our social services, our school, our religious education program, our liturgy, our work for justice – We are the Body of Christ sent to feed a hungry world.

· Como Iglesia del Santísimo Sacramento,
· Somos el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo, no por nosotros mismos, sino por las personas con que encontramos diaria – amigos, familia, compañeros de trabajo.
· Nos damos cuenta que en este mundo tan diverso en que vivimos, puede ser que seamos nosotros la única cara de Cristo con la que va a encontrar la mayoría de la gente.
· Nos damos cuenta que cuando nos reunimos como Pueblo de Dios para servir la comunidad de Hollywood, con los servicios sociales, con nuestra escuela, con el programa de educación religiosa, con nuestra Misa, con nuestro trabajo por la justicia – Somos el Cuerpo de Cristo mandado a alimentar el mundo hambriento.

· Today we celebrate 102 years of faith and service to the people of Hollywood.
· Let us give thanks to the Lord for his gifts to us.
· Let us ask God’s help so that we can continue to be the Body of Christ for all.

· Demos gracias al Señor por los dones que él nos ha dado.

FATHER’S DAY BLESSING

God, our Father,
in your wisdom and love you made all things.
Bless these men standing here before us, your sons,
that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers.
Through the intercession of St. Joseph,
Patron of Families and of Homes,
that they may shepherd, protect and provide for their families.
And with the intercession of Mary, Mother of God,
may they guide and nurture the presence of Christ in the world.
Let the example of their faith, prayer and love shine forth.
Grant that we may honor them always
with a spirit of profound appreciation, respect and love.

Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Dios, Padre,
Por la sabiduría y el amor tu creaste todo el universo.
Bendice estos hombres, tus hijos, parados entre nosotros.
Fortifíquenlos ser buenos padres cristianos.
Por la intercesión de San José, Patrono de la Familia y de Hogares,
que ellos sean buenos pastores, que protejan y mantengan sus familias.
Y por la intercesión de Maria, la Madre de Dios,
que ellos guíen y críen la presencia de Cristo en el mundo.
Que se brillen fuertemente su fe y su vida de oración y de amor.
