• Gran Día para nuestra parroquia
• Celebramos quienes somos como Pueblo de Dios ubicado en Hollywood
• Celebramos la Fiesta del Cuerpo y Sangre del Señor – La Fiesta del Santísimo Sacramento

• In praying over the reading over the course of the week, I was struck by the words “Blessed, Broken, and Given” that are used in two of today’s Scripture readings.
• In the second reading, Paul writes to the Corinthians and describes the prayer and actions of Jesus at the Last Supper.
• Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to his disciples.
• Our Eucharistic celebration every Sunday makes the Last Supper and the prayer and mission of Jesus present to us.
• In today’s Gospel reading from Luke,
• The Apostles want to send the people home – but Jesus refuses.
• He tells the Disciples that they have to nourish the people for their journey so that they too can spread the Good news.
• Jesus took bread and fish, blessed them, broke them and gave them to his Disciples to distribute.

• Al meditar sobre las lectures a lo largo de la semana, me impactaron las palabras: “Bendecido, Partidoo, y Dado” que son usadas en dos de las lecturas de hoy.
• En la segunda lectura, San Pablo escribe a los Corintios, y les cuenta la oración y las acciones de Jesús en la Ultima Cena
• Jesús tomó pan, lo bendijo, lo partió, y se lo dio a sus discípulos.
• Cada domingo en nuestra misa, hacemos presente de nuevo la misión y la oración de Jesús.
• En el Evangelio de hoy tomado de San Lucas,
• Los Apóstoles querían despedir a la gente, pero Jesús no estaba de acuerdo.
• Jesús les dice que los Discípulos tienen que alimentarle a la gente para su jornada para que ellos también puedan proclamar la Buena Nueva.
• Jesús tomó los pescados y el pan, pronunció la oración de acción de gracias, los partió, y se los dio a sus Discípulos para que ellos los distribuyeran entre la gente.

• Word and Mission
• As Christians, we cannot separate Sunday Eucharist from Daily Actions as we attempt to be followers of Jesus.

• Bendecido, Partido, y Dado
• Eucaristía y Alimento para los Viajeros Hambrientos
• La Fe y La Acción
• Palabra y Misión
• Como Cristianos, no se puede separar nuestra Misa dominical de lo que hacemos diariamente al seguir a Jesús.

• Blessed, Broken, Given – Where do we fit into the Picture?

• Blessed (better in Spanish – Acción de Gracias – Thanksgiving)
• We bless in the name of Jesus because we have been blessed by God
• Even as we struggle with the difficulties of life, we are blessed because we have experienced God’s love of us
• God has touched our hearts – we are blessed.

• Broken
• In recognizing the blessings that God has given us, we try and live in gratitude
• Our self-absorption and self-centeredness are broken open – as we are touched by the lives and the stories of others

• Given
• Realizing our shortcoming yet living our lives in gratitude, we share our gifts with one another especially with those most in need.
• In Luke’s telling, Jesus doesn’t distribute the bread and fish himself.
• He gives that task to his disciples -
• Those who have been traveling with Jesus, heard his teaching and eaten with him.
• Now we, gathered in worship today, like the disciples must in turn teach, feed, and heal others in his name.

• Bendecido, Partido, Dado - ¿Dónde estamos nosotros en este cuadro?

• Bendecido - Viviendo en Acción de Gracias perpetúa
• Somos bendecidos
• Aún con las luchas y dificultades con la vida, sentimos bendecidos porque hemos experimentado el amol de Dios por nosotros.

• Partido
• Al reconocer las bendiciones que el Señor nos ha dado, intentamos vivir en acción de gracias continua.
• Nuestro auto-enfoque y orgullo se rompen al dejarnos ser tocados por las historias y vidas de otras personas con que nos encontramos en el camino.

• Dado
• Dando nos cuenta de nuestras fallas, sin embargo viviendo nuestras vidas en acción de gracias, compartimos los talentos que tenemos con los demás, sobre todo con los más necesitados.
• En el evangelio de San Lucas, Jesús no es él que reparte el pan y los pescados.
• Sino Jesús deja este trabajo en las manos de sus Discípulos -
• Los que viajaba con Jesús, escuchaba su mensaje, y comía con él.
• Ahora, a nosotros reunidos hoy en este templo, nos toca orientar a los demás, darles a comer, y curarlos en el nombre de Jesús

• We at Blessed Sacrament are a diverse Catholic faith community located in the middle of one of the most well known towns of the world – Hollywood.
• Movies are made here
• Dreams are created here
• But we know that real life is more difficult than life that is portrayed in the movies.
• We need the nourishment that Jesus offers to sustain us in our daily life.

• Nosotros como parroquia del Santísimo Sacramento somos una comunidad católica muy diversa – una comunidad ubicada en el centro de uno de los pueblos mas conocido del mundo – Hollywood
• Aquí se hacen las películas
• Aquí se inician los sueños
• Pero todos sabemos que la vida actual es mucho mas dura que la vida representada en el cine.
• Nos hace falta el alimento que Jesús ofrece para sostenernos en nuestras vidas cotidianas.

• As we continue with this celebration
• We pray in thanksgiving for the miracles that God has worked in our lives and in the life of our community
• We pray in thanksgiving for the nourishment of the Eucharist that the Lord has given us to sustain us in our Mission as individuals and as a community
• We pray in thanksgiving for all those who work so hard in ministry at Blessed Sacrament to make real the message of the Gospel

• Al seguir con nuestra celebración
• Pedimos en acción de gracias por los milagros que el Señor Dios ha hecho en nuestras vidas y en la vida de nuestra comunidad.
• Pedimos en acción de gracias por el alimento de la Eucaristía que el Señor ha regalado para sostenernos en nuestra Misión tanto individuos como comunidad.
• Pedimos en acción de gracias por todos los que trabajan tan duro en sus ministerios aquí en la parroquia para hacer vivo el mensaje del Evangelio.

• Together – Many made one around the table of the Lord
• Juntos – Muchos se hacen uno solo alrededor de la Mesa del Señor.
