Blessings to all this Advent Season!

In the past several weeks, many have met with Nancy and discussed the needs and expectations of the Lector Ministry and how it can improve. It was suggested by many that two Lectors at Liturgy of the Word would bring two perspectives of delivery, a way of supporting each other when serving together, and allow greater opportunity for participation by all Lectors, some of whom have had only one opportunity per quarter to participate in the past. This change would also help to ensure that the essential presence of a Lector is at every mass.

In response to your feedback and to better fulfill the needs of our ministry and the faithful, you will notice a change in the new scheduling. Two lectors are scheduled for every Liturgy as opposed to only the Sunday 11 AM Liturgy in the past. Also, in the future, Yolanda Brown or a member of the Parish Council may be presenting the announcements. You will be made aware of this before mass begins.

As always, it is your responsibility to find a replacement for yourself if you are unable to read at your scheduled Mass. You will see, a Lector availability list displaying the Masses for which the readers are available. And as always, if you relocate, change your telephone number or if your scheduled Masses are no longer compatible for you, please inform me as soon as you are able so that the requested changes can be reflected on the next listings. You are always able to access all schedules and handouts on the Blessed Sacrament website.
