SISTER OF NOTRE DAME KILLED IN BRAZIL

Sr. Dorothy Stang, SND, an advocate for rural peasants, land reform and environmental protections, was killed in Brazil. Her murder appears to be politically motivated.

This year marks the 200 anniversary year of the birth of St. Terese Couderc, founder of the Sisters of the Cenacle. The Sisters of the Cenacle are an Ignatian congregation of women who offer the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius as one of their primary apostolates.
