IGNATIAN FAMILY TEACH-IN FOR JUSTICE

The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice (IFTJ) is an annual event held to commemorate the Jesuits and laywomen who were martyred in 1989, to call for an end to unjust institutions, and to reflect on the Jesuit commitment to justice. Each year, thousands of high school and college students, clergy and lay people gather in Columbus, GA, for the Teach-in. Speakers, ranging from high school students to bishops to reflect on a wide range of justice issues. The Teach-In has been a transforming experience for many people.

This year’s Teach-In will be held from November 18th -20th in Columbus, GA

SACRED SPACE: The Prayer Book 2006

A few months back I provided information of the publication of a new book, Sacred Space: The Prayer Book 2006. The book, published by Ave Maria Press, is a based upon the popular interactive website, http://www.sacredspace.ie/ by the Irish Jesuits.

I have recently looked through the book and I find that it is worth purchasing and worth recommending to persons who are looking for a guide to daily prayer. Based upon the lectionary readings for the day, the book provides reflections questions each day based upon those readings. The book would be helpful for individuals or small groups.

Advent and the start of the new liturgical year are but a few weeks away. This book would make a perfect Advent-Christmas gift for family, friends or colleagues.
