MIGRATION: THE MOVEMENT OF PEOPLES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD

Religious Orders Partnership 2007 Annual Meeting will be examining the social, economic, ecological and spiritual dimensions of our brothers and sisters crossing borders.

The Program for the Annual Meeting will include:
Rabbi Michael Lerner, Tikkun Movement, “The Global Marshall Plan and the Strategy of Generosity in Global Politics”

Sr. Amata Miller, IHM, Economics, College of St. Catherine, “Migration: The Human and Economic Cost of Crossing Borders”

Sr. Nellie McLaughlin, RSM, Ecologist, Out of Wonder: The Evolving Story of the Universe, “Migration: The Shift of the Universe as Humanity Crosses Borders”

Mr. Ruben Garcia, Director of Annunciation House, El Paso, TX, ““Migration: The Basic Needs and Harsh Realities of Crossing Borders”

Objectives
-To understand the needs of those who migrate
-To become a voice for those on the move
-To network with our various groups
-To realize the potential for collaboration
-To reflect on our collective commitments
