PROGRESS ON CHALLENGE PARTICIPANTS

A couple of months ago I informed you that the Ignatian Spirituality Program was sponsoring Mark Link’s CHALLENGE Prayer Program. About 30 parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Church have begun CHALLENGE and are participating in twice monthly faith sharing groups. These groups are led by members of the parish who have made the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life.

I also extended an invitation to some of my own family members to make the CHALLENGE program. My brothers, sisters and their spouses are doing the program along some family friends. Even my mother is doing CHALLENGE.

Below are some reflections by those making CHALLENGE.

I am really enjoying it, even though there have been a couple of days here and there that I have had to play “catch-up”. However, overall I really like the structured nature of the meditation program. The weekly topics allow me (so far) to bring God directly into my thoughts about “Who I Am and Do I Rejoice in Who I Am”. I also enjoyed our faith sharing meeting.

So, bottom line, I really look at this as an opportunity to get closer to God, to open up my prayer and meditation practices, and I am excited to continue on over the next eight (or so) months.

Thanks for asking me to participate!

The meditations I have done have so dialed into my state of mind its marvelous (also, chillingly on target).

I started meditating on this red little book of CHALLENGE. This is a very good tool to enhance spiritual growth. Thanks for sharing this.

I enjoy the intimacy of the small group sharing.

I find that the CHALLENGE prayers  are helping me to be more attentive to the scriptures and homilies at Sunday masses. I am experiencing connections between what I am reflecting upon in CHALLENGE and what I hear and experience at Sunday Mass.
