Perspective on Religion

Hello Friends,
We are half way through the program for the year 2006-2007. Soon Lent will be upon us with Ash Wednesday as the start off for that wonderful time of the year.
And where are you?
Jesus spent 40 days in the desert communing with God, figuring out what he should do, and how. After he returned to his own home town he looks to the Scriptures for guidance. He engages the people around him as he gives shape to his Mission.
You too as individuals and as a group have been scanning pages of the Scripture and the catechism to decipher the promptings of the Spirit, as well as sharing with the group your findings.
May this time be one of deepening of the search and finding what your hearts desire.

The RCIA programme is gaining momentum with the participants making their elections,on whether to continue with the program or wait.
The weekly gatherings help every one to deepen the quest, answer some of the questions and throw up new ones. The new persons joining and some of the older ones withdrawing act as prods.
On February 27, 05 the group will spend a day in prayer and reflection, called a Retreat.
This will be an opportunity to prepare for Easter and the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) on Easter Vigil.
